Right or wrong, Moffitt blames O for the decline in strength and conditioning at end of his tenure at LSU. Some would argue you were the strength and conditioning coach, so get it done anyway.
It's impossible to say unless you were there. The football program as a whole became such a shite show after Orgeron's divorce. Was he meddling/interfering in Moffit's strength program? It wouldn't surprise me. He was known to meddle in all kinds of shite dating back to his Ole Miss days. We had people in the football ops building who didn't know what their job descriptions were when Kelly arrived.

im pretty qualified and knowledgable of Tommys program and many others and anyone saying he was washed up is dumb AF
I didnt always agree with everything tommy did, especially when it came to conditioning, mainly because we disagreed that conditioning built mental toughness as I think that is complete bullshite and causes way too many injuries
but tommy was one of the first to go to olympic based system, then he lsowly switched to more of a conjugated approach with olympic lifts still in the program(think westside for olympic lifting) then slowly went over to Velocity based system as the technology became available. He was one of the first to bring in more of a westside approach and was one of the first to bring in velocity based training where bar speed became huge indicator.
was tommy the best at monitoring nutrition and making sure everyones blood work was perfect and they were getting all the vitamins to optimize everything...frick no. but he took a lot of shite for O having zero consequences to not meeting your macros. FTR he bitched to O a ton about that, especially in 2021.
2020 wasnt really on him, more of a systematic failure from the top, all the way to the governor and his bullshite covid response.
Tommy is old school when it comes to conditioning and mental toughness etc. He is completely up to date on weight and plyometric training. I would say the last two years have allowed him to talk with lots of people and become more up to date on speed training.
with all that said...would i think this is a good hire for a program like UGA, BAMA, Michigan, Ohio State etc etc.....hell no, would be a terrible hire. For A&M, for the complete culture change they need....its the perfect hire imo. Will they be the healthiest and most optimized team...prolly not, but they need a culture change and that is what Tommy is best at.
and anyone thinking this should be held against him...frick you. Dude wants to work, period. WTF is he supposed to do...sit around and not accept big time jobs thrown his way?

Because they knew that Elko was leaving at the end of the year. The team started fracturing with the news
If that’s what you have to tell yourself in order to sleep at night, go for it.

I appreciate the posters who are capable of occasionally not trolling. It makes the board better. Not nearly enough such posters.

When we got let go at LSU, one of my assistant coaches went to work to coach Mike Elko and his strength coach, David Feeley, at Duke. After Jeremy Jacobs took the job, he called me and talked about how much he loved working for Elko, how organized he was and how good he was at supporting the strength and conditioning staff.
I became a fan of Duke and coach Elko. All you had to do was turn the TV on and watch how hard they played and how well they were coached. I knew, when this job first opened, and I found out coach Feeley wasn't coming, then I did everything possible to get him on the phone and talk to Elko.
I did make the first calls. I went after it. I was telling my friends in Baton Rouge about Duke. Everybody wondered where it came from. Duke started beating people. I was a Mike Elko fan long before this job ever became available.
Chad Klunder called me back first. I had to convince him that this was a job that I wanted. After that, I spoke to coach Elko.

Sure blame the S&C and not Orgeron

Didn’t LSU pickup A&M’s old AD and always trying to poach their players?
Glad yall got Corey Raymond back. He’s not the only staff member they’d like to have back.

You mean blame the S&C coach for S&C? I think I will.
FYI, I live in Baton Rouge & graduated from LSU — do you think you follow the LSU football program more closely than I do

Yes. But at least we know you’re unbiased.
