College Station isn't horrible, but its definitely not the typical big college town vibe. East Central Texas in general is depressing, though.
Norman being on that list suprises me more than anything. Its a suburb of OKC, the most boring, bland major metro in America.
I'm not impressed with Norman. Its like Tuscaloosa with more white people and fewer bars.

Kind of a weird list. Palo Alto is in no way a college town. It's a rich arse suburb that happens to have a college in it

Oregon football players skewed the crime stats too heavily for them to make the list

Both Norman and College Station beat out Austin ranking??? This list = Fail.

Hi. Who are you?

Wish Arkansas would move the LSU/Arkansas football game to Fayetteville. Would love to make the trip up there. It's a better town/venue. We get stuck in Little Rock.

This list is which college towns have the highest Quality of Life rankings.
The only true college towns I've been to are Auburn, Athens, Tuscaloosa, Starkville, Oxford and Murphreesboro.
Out of those, I definitely prefer Oxford and Athens.

I think Gainesville and Madison are pretty good college towns. Baton Rouge is an awful college town. Parents that want their kid to get a good education send them to private school. The traffic is a nightmare, there's not much to do. People go to New Orleans to have a good time. Maybe I dont know where to look to have a good time here but I've been here almost a year. All the good times I have are in New Orleans.

Well that's because New Orleans is the shite

I have a lot of family in Athens. My dad went to UGA. But Athens is not a top College Sports town. Its a great place to go to a football game, go to a concert or hit on coeds at a bar. But they only care about one sport in Athens.... Football.
Maybe Mark Fox can change that. But until then it doesn't deserve to be in the top 10

It deserved top 10 imo.
Kentucky doesn't give two shits about Football or Baseball.
One question, though?
Is Willie Martinez coaching the pitchers at UGA? I don't think they've kept their opponents in the single digits this yeaer.

Yeah Fayetteville cares equally about football, basketball and baseball. Throw in a great track program and all around great facilities, as well as an active outdoors lifestyle, and its a good fit for the list.
You should see Fayetteville's main paved trails on a sunny day like this past Sunday. Its like a little freeway of people.

Its finally trail weather again, 70 F today.
***Fayetteville Weather Report***
Although in typical NWA fashion, we are expecting severe storms later on this evening.
Here's a few videos I found of people taking advantage of our trails in town here. This isn't a park, these are trails that are in dedicated ROW (mostly stream adjacent) that go right up through the heart of the city. You can ride from downtown, all the way up to North Fayetteville and only cross a street 2 times, at signaled, lighted, elevated crossings.
These are lighted at night, too, with the main ones staying lit all night long.
About 20 miles worth of these in the city proper, mainly in lower lying, non hilly areas for obvious reasons.
Adding about 4-5 miles each spring and summer right now, too.

You're doing a hell of a job selling Fayetteville wmr. I want to make a trip up there this season to watch y'all rain down terror on Ole Miss.
Posted on 3/10/10 at 2:48 pm to Duke
Well, visit once, and you won't have to be sold.
A tip, though. If you fly (or drive) in and take the U of A exit, you will not see a bit of the town. MLK (formerly 6th street) is the ugliest strip of fast food joints in town, and it happens to be the main route from I-540 to campus.
Mount Sequoyah, Dickson, the Square, Lake Fayetteville, Wislon Park, etc are all east of the University, while the freeway is west.

Gainesville is a shite hole that just happens to have a world class university located in it. People who say that Baton Rouge sucks have obviously never been to G-ville on a non-football weekend. UT alumni stay in Austin because they love the city, the same is true for UGA grads in Athens and Arky grads in Fayetteville. I've never had a UF alum tell me that they love Gainesville other than during their college years there.
