Not reading the whole thread, but as far as the AAU...it has outlived its relevance and is not as important or effective as other academic collaborations like the Big Ten Academic Alliance or SECU.

is one of the best public universities in the country. More importantly it is an university who wants to have the best of everything. Starting from the students to the professors.
prove that texas professors are better than any other university's professors as far as teaching goes. nobody going to get a interview or job offer simply b/c texas is on their resume. it probaby helps in texas but i know in the Carolinas it would not be seen as better than G Tech, NC State, Clemson, UGA, va tech, SC, etc.
employers aren't looking at US News rankings when they are trying to hire somebody.

Are you laughing because those schools are considered public ivy, or is it because your ag school isn't despite the all important AAU research status?

Is UGA the only Public Ivy who is not AAU
If not how many other universities are considered a Public Ivy that are not AAU

Only others on that list that are not AAU are Binghamton, William & Mary, and Miami (Ohio)
Of course, that also doesn't take into account private schools like Notre Dame and Miami (FL) that aren't AAU either.
