you will have to implement tiebreakers to determine conference champion for the playoff...no split champions

This year it would be between Alabama, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M, all 7-1 in conference play

First rule: Head to Head

Georgia beat Ole Miss, Ole Miss eliminated
Alabama beat Georgia, Georgia eliminated

Second rule: Overall Record
Texas A&M is 11-1
Alabama is 10-2, Alabama eliminated

Third rule, if there were still tied teams, could be Opponent Winning Percentage (All opponents to make sure OOC games count)

So this year, your SEC Champ would be Texas A&M

I don't know how you get any more unbiased than that.

So the schedule that a team is given by the SEC fully allows a team to control its own destiny...???

Not even close to being unbiased.

Conference is too big for a round-robin style regular season, so everyone's schedules are always going to be different. That can't be helped.

No automatic bids.

you can't get rid of the G6 bid, sorry.

More autobids is what's needed. SEC and Big 10 4 autobids. That would provide play-in games to replace the outdated conference championship games

The OP of this thread asked, "How would you like the conference championship to be awarded each year?" This is the tie-breaking process for the SEC Championship Game:

In the event of a tie between teams competing for a place in the Conference championship game, the following procedures will be used in descending order until the tie is broken:

Head-to-head competition among the tied teams

Record versus all common Conference opponents among the tied teams

Record against highest (best) placed common Conference opponent in the Conference standings, and proceeding through the Conference standings among the tied teams

Cumulative Conference winning percentage of all Conference opponents among the tied teams

Capped relative total scoring margin versus all Conference opponents among the tied teams

Random draw of the tied teams

Head-to-head is literally the 1st one listed! Your "Head to head match ups have nothing to do with the current tie-breaker arrangement." comment is based on the CFP tie-breaker arrangement!

He's demonstrated multiple times in this thread that he has no idea how the process actually works.
