Excuses are just that.
Cam Newton didn't have the luxury of a great defense. Yet he managed. The 2 games JFF lost last season weren't because of the defense. UF only scored 20, LSU only scored 24. JFF could only manage 17 and 19 pts respectively.

Texas A&M was ranked 57th in total defense 2012.
And Auburn was 60th in 2010.

That was not my point. Texas Tea said JFF was the greatest ever. I was pointing out that Cam won a N.C. without a great defense.
But JFF can't with a defense that was ranked higher than Auburn's in 2010.

I know but 2010 auburn did the things a team needs to do to win games.
1. Run the ball
2.stop the run
3. Win turnover battle.
If a team does 2/3 of theses things they win 80% of the time.
If they do all three it jumps to 93% of the time.
While auburn's pass defense wasn't great their run defense was the best in the sec and had the best TO margin. Had A&M had those last year , they would've been undefeated.

Let's be honest. It will hard for us to finish higher than 3rd in the west as long as saban and miles are around. We will never have better recruit classes than them. We will have to play exceptionally to win those games. Not saying it can't happen but we will be the underdog every season most likely.
