Thomas Andrew Lehrer, born April 09, 1928 (I think he is still alive)
Lehrer was drafted into the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957, working at the National Security Agency (NSA). Lehrer has stated that he invented the Jello shot during this time, as a means of circumventing a naval base's ban on alcoholic beverages. Despite holding a master's degree in an era when American conscripts often lacked a high school diploma, Lehrer served as an enlisted soldier, achieving the rank of Specialist Third Class, which he described as being a "corporal without portfolio". These experiences became fodder for songs, such as "The Wild West is Where I Want to Be" and "It Makes a Fellow Proud to Be a Soldier". In 2020 Lehrer publicly revealed that he had been assigned to the NSA; since the mere fact of the NSA's existence was classified at the time, Lehrer found himself in the position of implicitly using nuclear weapons work as a cover story for something more sensitive.

37 years ago, I was a PN2 on a MSC military detachment. Before EVERY deployment. I would order 3 cases of film remover for our copier. As soon as the cases arrived, I would drain all 12 bottles (it was just denatured alcohol) and replace it with PGA. No issue with having a drink on demand on a 6 month deployment. And PGA worked fine for cleaning a copier photoreceptor belt! If you weren’t trying to circumvent Navy regs, you weren’t trying hard enough!

Tom Lehrer is still alive..
And he's famous for being one of the pioneers of modern musical satire. Dr. Demento and Weird Al owe him a lot and have stated so.
Not long ago he released his entire musical catalog into the public domain and declared that anyone can freely use it.
