Kiffin has a .686 winning percentage in his D1 head coaching career. No playoff appearances.
Kalen Deboer has a .770 winning percentage in his D1 coaching career. He's beaten Texas in a 4 team playoff and Oklahoma in a 12 team playoff.
One has controversy follow him wherever he goes, and one has never had a scandal and just wins. If we were blind ranking resume's, 100/100 LSU fans would pick Deboer.
Serious questions should require some thought. This is like asking would you rather get locked in a tank with a shark or a goldfish. The tangible data makes it obvious without even factoring in the extracurricular bullshite.
I think it's a great match for LSU though. Your fanbase enjoys bitching, eating their own, and raising pitchforks as much as they enjoy winning. What better match for the most volatile coach in the country that the most volatile program in the country.

I wanted Kiffin after Saban and thought I was right prior to the playoff mess. He had "rebuilt" his image and was sober, but that must have been a ruse. Even I must admit that he is a PR mess that most don't want to dead with. On the field for one game, Kiffin, but I am warming up to DeBoer more than ever with this team.

Youre underestimating the estrogen level of the common LSU fan, their E2 market is off the charts and thus enjoy their dramatic soap opera adjacent coach.
