No it means you are glad you got to witness something in your past that made you happy. Ipso facto caring about what happened in the past. Missouri has plenty to celebrate, no matter what people may spout all that really matters to anyone is what your team has done lately. Mizzou, as much as I really don't like them, has done plenty lately to be proud of. Only one team can win the title every year. No shame in being a good not great team two years in a row and winning your division in the toughest conference in football. Nebraska on the other hand in just pining to regain the glory of days past. Very typical of your behavior in this thread as you keep talking about getting to enjoy things before you die and other nonsense. They know they caught lightning in a bottle in the 90s and will never be the giant they once were. They are now the football equivalent of the Minnesota and Utahs of the world. But that's okay and it could be worse, at least as you say you got to see something that will make you happy and provide some memories, albeit now its going on 20 years. Now I know you are dumb as hell and probably can't understand some of the words i'm typing so if you need me to translate to some elementary Nebraska terms I will.

Georgia has withstood the test of time at a nationally elite status....Nebraska not so much. Georgia continues to compete for national championships while Nebraska can't even compete for their own division in a weak conference

Am I glad? There is a shelf life on things like national championships. At a certain point no one cares anymore. UGA has long surpassed that shelf life, as has Nebraska. The difference is one (UGA) continues to compete at a national level and any given year (given recruiting rankings and talent accumulated) could have a national title season. Nebraska will never be able to do that with consistency. They are third tier now and likely forever.

Ok, so there is a shelf life. Then you should call up the AD at UGA and tell them to burn the national title trophy, all title banners, and never publish any note of a previous national title since you say there is a shelf life.

So, since Missouri fans think football started two years ago, that means the entire history of every program in the national no longer matters. Thus, every school in the country should just burn any trophy they have that dates past two years old.

UGA is the worst tease in college football. Every year I hope will be their year, and every year they fall just short. I actually like Georgia, and several good friends are Georgia grads. One of the few SEC teams I want good things for.

Commiserating past accomplishments is nice and remembering those teams for the juggernauts they were is fun but really has no bearing on how strong a program is today. All Nebraska will ever have is the 90s trophies to pine over. While that is more national championships than my school can boast, UGA will win more in the future that people will care about and forget just like the others. That's why consistency is the most important thing. The ability to make every year your year. Never falling out of the spotlight. Nebraska really missed the mark on that one.

Since you say there is a shelf life, that means things expire. What happens to things that get expired? It gets thrown into the trash and whatever happens to it after it goes to the garbage.
