We moved on. We tried to keep the the A&M/UT rivalry alive. "Anytime, anywhere" were the exact words of our University President at the time. The SEC even cooperated by keep our Thanksgiving weekend slot flexible for our first couple of years in the SEC, in case the horns came around. They didn't. And we we moved on. LSU and A&M got matched up instead, and I've grown to enjoy the matchup.
I want to play UT every year. I want to enjoy beating the shite out of them while they wonder WTF happened because their magical cow logo is supposed to make them magically good. Their dumbfounded faces are always fricking priceless. But we have nearly a century of history with LSU and Arky too, and they've been better partners to us recently. Wouldn't be right to undo a good thing built on mutual competition with two other historic rivals just because the whiny bitches that took their ball and went home finally realized they fricked up. They can work their way into our schedule, or frick off. We aren't sacrificing anything.

Aggy ain’t fooling no one with this crap. It’s not about who beats who on the field in the short term future. SEC has been great to aggy in building their own stand alone brand. A pod with UT/OU throws much of that away. You lose Jimbo have a few bad years recruiting and suddenly it’s back to laughing at Aggie all over again.
It turns your 100 year decision into a nightmare. Hence all the UT is evil and will destroy the almighty SEC. Just stop with that weak shite. The only thing that could get wrecked is what aggy has been building last 10 years which admittedly has been impressive.

College football is changing to almost unrecognizable levels. Repeating the past beyond tradition feels like a mistake no matter what SEC program you are talking about.

I like the Pod SECN put out with LSU, Ole Miss, & Miss State. Would also like Texas and Arkansas as permanent games. Then I assume 4 random games.

Nah we were only in the Big 12 with them, so like 15 years. They were Big 8 not SWC. We’ve been playing the MS and AL schools yearly for almost as long as OU now

Not really. We don't have much history with them. We played them mostly during our Big 12 years, but A&M was only in the Big 12 for 15 years. For context, this will be year 10 in the SEC. So at this point we've biult almost as much of rivalry with likes of Ole Miss and Miss State as we did with OU back then.
I don't have anything against the Sooners, really. They were, by far, the most enjoyable road trip in the Big 12 days, and I wouldn't mind the occasional trip back. But it's not a rivalry. No need to be played every year.

I’m thinking about A&M not interested in playing Texas. It makes no sense. You have had a better football team for past decade but still hesitant to play. Y’all are talking about offending equally important rivals like Arky and LSU because they’ve been nice to you as a good partner. bullshite.
Texas didn’t want to play when y’all moved to the SEC cause we thought y’all would suck and it would help you. Petty? Absolutely. Lately Texas has wanted to play but Aggie who says no because you don’t want to help a shitty UT by giving us a chance to beat you even during our down years. Petty? Absolutely. But there is no reason to avoid it now so it’s becoming clear you are scared. Not on the field but in long term. You know what you are in the eyes of Texans. 10 years in SEC accomplishing shite won’t change that.

What we got going with LSU is great compared to anything we had in the Big 12. No reason to rock the boat.
