*video analysis in link*

quote:

Joe Burrow completed 32.6 percent of his passes inside the 20. Mizzou was the second worst team in the SEC, at 40.4. LSU was the only team with a passer rating inside the red zone below 100, and one of just two teams (Ole Miss 108.03) below 140. ONE FORTY. LSU’s passing game wasn’t bad inside the red zone, it was comically bad. It was so bad that if Burrow literally doubled his yards/attempt (2.37), the new number would still rank only fifth in the SEC. I would like to point out right now that LSU has a 6-7 receiver on the roster who ranked second on the team in receptions and yards, and who is yet to catch a red zone pass in his entire LSU career.

quote:

LSU went to the red zone 30 times in 7 SEC games (not counting A&M). The Tigers scored 12 touchdowns. How bad is that? Tennessee also scored 12 touchdowns… they had just 18 red zone trips. Florida went to the red zone 30 times, just like LSU, and they scored 18 touchdowns. Vanderbilt also went to the red zone 30 times, and they scored a touchdown 19 times.

Will be interesting to see if O and passing coordinator Joe Brady can fix this major issue in 2019.

Any time that LSU crosses the 50 is considered a win for the LSU offense.

Yikes.

I think Joe will benefit from an improved run game.

John Emery Jr. (#1 RB recruit) will definitely help.

The leaks from the first scrimmage suggest Emery was so good O wouldn’t even talk about him. Just mentioned CEH and Curry. Sting also had a PR TD and 2 pics. The Sting era is upon us and in full force.

Hopefully he has a fournette type career.

crossing the 50 definitely wasn’t our problem last year.

My sources tell me Emery was unstoppable.

Also, did you know Stingley is LSUs highest rated defensive recruit of all time?

Not very often you can say that about a player. (Berry, Nkemdiche, Clowney, Anoma, etc.)

That really should help y'all put points on the board come November.

I have never watched a video analysis of another team, especially in the preseason. Know why? bc I'm not a pathetic, obsessed troll.

Well he took a punt return to the house today in our scrimmage and will most likely do it to someone else this year as well. Soooo yea you’re right!

punt return

Don't think he'll have a chance when y'all play us. Maybe at the end of the 3rd quarter when Tua is pulled for the day.

Maybe if he catches the punt 9 yards deep in the end zone.

A legit concern.

Hopefully Burrow gets better protection from his O-line. He was pressured on over 40% of his red zone drop backs. Only Arkansas’ Story was harassed more.

Also, they need to mix up the play-calling better. Over 70% of the play calls in the red zone were called run plays. Highest rate among our SEC brethren last year. Not good.

ETA - Another wild number: nearly 85% of their plays in the red zone on 1st down were called run plays. Obviously the highest run rate in this scenario.

I mean it doesn’t matter what LSU does, they’re still better than most of your joke teams.
