Dammit I wanted him. People need to get over this NCAA shite. You can't predict something is going to come from that. Butch Davis is one of the best talent evaluators and developers in the country. I do not want him in the SEC. Other than at AU of course.

Honestly, I think you could do a lot worse. I'd give the guy a long look if I was Long. I'm not certain which hire would be better, him or Franklin, but I'd put both of them ahead of Davis if I was Long.

I have no problem at atll with Davis under the right circumstances
I'm not for him, but not really against him either so i have no dog in this fight, but I mean, the year was supposed to be 2010 for him. that was UNC's coming out party, it was all building up to that year and that year he got like 13-15 players suspended include his bad arse DT's and bad arse LB's.
as much of an offensive guru as petrino is, davis has put Hicks in the NFL and the QB that plays for the texans.
for me the right scenerio for davis is the following
1. the offensive performance we have seen the last 2 games is no fluke
2. we keep paul petrino on as OC
that + davis, is about as good as you are gonna do anywhere. davis bring in the talent and coach the defense, petrino and company coach the offense= i can do that

He is an Ok State alumn. I've heard he was pissed last year about the contract negotiatons. He got an extension, but it took way longer than he thought and he wasn't offered nearly what he wanted. He felt a bit disrespected (but who turns down close to $3M/year?).
I've just heard Arky has interest and that if the money was right he'd strongly consider.
