its funny if you ask current LSU students who LSU's biggest rival currently is the majority say fla. but if you were to ask current fla students LSU isnt in the top 3

It works like that at most every school in the SEC. You ask Alabama students who graduated with me and they'll say Tennessee. Ask my dad's generation, or those to come, and it's most likely Auburn. It goes in cycles, but usually concentrates on a set number of teams. Of course I could see the Alabama-LSU series developing into a rivalry over the coming years.

If duration is the measure for ranking SEC rivalries, leading the list would be Auburn vs. Georgia. It's the oldest football rivalry in the South.

The point being that Alabama has two rivalries that have more hatred, for longer periods of time, than anything Florida has.

Bama wins the 2009 long term rivalry hatred national championship.

I wouldn't argue with that, although my point was that duration creates the heated moments over the years that builds a hated rival. Otherwise, if it was just duration alone, Alabama-Mississippi State would be up there too. We've played them 93 times in the history of the series. The point being, duration is important in building a heated rival, but so are games that mean something. My original intent was that Alabama-Tennessee is a long standing series, in which both programs competed for the SEC title, as is the Iron Bowl.

No Georgia? You fail. Georgia is at least #2, if not the top rival.
