Honestly Lagway probably needs a fresh start somewhere. It's hard to evaluate his potential based on Sun Belt Billy's offense and coaching. The 5 game win streak last year had Gator fans convinced he was the second coming but their opinions changed.

I think any new staff wants to set a new tone and reevaluate everyone so it's not surprising Sumrall was noncommittal and didn't really care about retaining him.

Florida has some young studs at WR so it would seem much more important to keep them.

Sure you can. Arch Manming is the perfect example. He couldn’t hit short medium or long at the beginning of the season. Looked like Joe Burrow at the end.
