This is a weird post. Well, it is the SECR, so carry on, I guess.

why is it weird? because a longhorn posted it or because of the topic?
why was I looking at Florida’s schedule?
because tiebreakers are gonna be a problem going forward.. the Big 12 is dealing with it this year.. when you don’t have divisions, it can get real messy..
for example, it is possible that 3 SEC teams are undefeated in conference play next year
I don’t know all the combinations for that to happen, but I do know of 1
Texas, Alabama & Ole Miss
I understand that it won’t happen as all 3 have to play Georgia, but it’s still a possibility. I’m sure there are other combinations as well.
With a 12 team playoff, it wouldn’t be the end of the world, but the champ does get a 1st round bye most likely, and one of those teams wouldn’t play in the SEC title game
For this reason, I think the SEC needs to think long and hard about having divisions each year for scheduling and tiebreaking purposes only
I have an example if anyone has read this far..

Kentucky will not be an easy game.

which is why I put it in quotes
UCF could be tough as well with Malzahn wanting to make a statement to the SEC
the schedule is ridiculous

Welcome to the new SEC. With the addition of OU and Texas, along with the removal of divisions, every team will have a schedule worth talking about.

nah, while I know the 1-7 format isn’t liked by many, that’s what we are using this year, and it would have been pretty simple to use this format
each perm on the same line
try to stack the other perm opponents on the same side since 24 is an even year, but also try to balance as much as possible
So in 2024
Alabama > Auburn, LSU, Tennessee, MS
Auburn > Alabama + Georgia
Texas > OU + A&M + Hogs
etc
Now it wouldn’t work so good in 2025 if they kept the same 1-7 format, but that’s going to be a problem either way.
this would have eliminated the possibility of 3 undefeated teams
As it is posted, the right side appears to be a little easier, mostly because of the Tennessee vs Vanderbilt matchup.. and you can’t switch TN to the right because then they wouldn’t play Bama

This is a stable rule in our written language: Whenever you begin a sentence capitalize the first letter of the first word.

this is the way they should have set it up for at least 2024 if not 2024-2027
It’s going to be a fun schedule either way, I just wish they had put some more thought into it.

I agree. Not having divisions in a 16 team league is retarded. I like your proposed setup. Seems like it would work well.
