I think clinical labs/medical technology or something like that.

Everyone I've ever known refers to it as Mississippi Med Center. Not ole miss medical school.
It's actually referred to as "UMC" or "University Medical Center" or simply "University"

"University" short for University of Mississippi, of course.

Pearl River Community College- went to two national championships and won one. Go Wildcats!
Seriously, I went to both Miss.St and Ole Miss and really, it's Ole Miss by a good ways.
And to contribute to the other argument, the programs at UMMC are run by Ole Miss off campus in Jackson just as the LSU medical school is located in New Orleans. In fact, many employees at UMMC are granted 50% discounts for tuition and season tickets to Ole Miss because they are considered faculty. No such deal for Miss.St.

"Flagship" refers to state schools getting the highest level of funding. In Texas both UT and TAMU are flagship schools. As the funding for both Ole Miss and MSU is high (not necessarily equal), they are both flagship schools. In fact, just about every school in the SEC would be considered a flagship. When Arkansas fans call themselves the flagship, they are merely proclaiming themselves the best school in Arkansas, which is roughly equivalent to getting a gold medal in the special olympics...

I left the part out though that some of the best doctors I worked with were State under graduates
As mt very good cardiologist says, "I went to undergrad at State and Vo-Tech at Ole Miss"

They change every two years or so, when I worked I got to park in front of the School of Nursing. Now there is a parking garage there. When I left they were calling it UHC, or University Hospital and Clinics. My wife still works there for SHRPS. I now work at "Tha Baptist" lol

Flagship is the term used often to refer to the leading comprehensive public university in the state. In LSU's case it is recognized as part of its mission as established by the legislature (if memory serves).
