The meltdown would be epic - the last of the polar icecaps would melt with all the bag men realizing all they have to do is pay a relative instead of the athlete

Marshall is the guy Fbaum interviews a lot on his show for Auburn topics

"A lot" meaning "when there's a dearth of credible info on Auburn topics" or "when he wants an Auburn perspective on an Auburn topic".

I say that as a Finebaum listener, not a Bammer.

that's why he cited the TV station. And apart from that TV station nobody else has reported it; everybody cites WSB-TV
My point being... ....Schad wouldn't report it if he didn't investigate it to find out the source from Winnie was legitimate.

It could be that Philip Marshall has no better guess than the rest of us as to what the NCAA will or won't do.

Told me what? That link says jack shite about Cecil admitting to anything, or anything being confirmed. All it says is MSU is accusing Rogers of soliciting them, and Rogers is accusing Newton.

Did Cecil have a previous relationship with Rogers? Did Cecil ask Rogers to help get his son into the best school possible coming out of Juco?

I think Rogers said his main objective is to help place athletes (that have previously had trouble at other schools)get into the best possible school and continue on with their careers......

Then there would be no need to cite it

Yea he does. If he didn't get it from 'sources', then he obviously got it from another reporter, in which he would have to report.

It wouldn't just be us Bammers - Hell the whole nation of bag men would be chizing all over themselves. They would realize all they had to do would be to pay an athletes relative without the athlete knowing about it. The term "agent" would have a whole new meaning for amateur athletes nationwide, in every fricking sport. It would be a day of celebration for MANY parent's, agents and boosters.

Don't know. Give me a link to an article where Cecil is quoted saying this, so that I can read up on, and I'll get back to you.

I honestly hope it is over this week one way or the other. Regardless I will never believe Auburn didn't break any rules in recruiting Cam.

Sadly, this is reality. No matter if AU and Cam are proven innocent, people are going to believe what they want to and this will be it.

But as long as AU is clean, Cam is eligible and we win an SEC and national title, I can MORE than live with it.

ESPN didn't even deem this article worthy enough to run with.

From this, I can take it that you were a part of the decision-making process at ESPN regarding this?

Yah, I'm sure no one has ever thought of that in the history of college athletics.

They really broke the seal on something special.
