Saban must have dumped him.

Seriously though, he's really hyping this thing up like there is something major behind this textbook thing. He's blasting "the head of the athletics dept", I guess Mal Moore (maybe Saban?) as covering up this "scandal." He also said Robert Whitt, the president of UA, who is an honorable guy, is probably pissed as hell at "the head of the athletic dept." for covering this up and not handling it the "right" way.

Finebaum is always using this type of hyperbole, but something made me a tad nervous in his comments. He did say nothing will probably come of this. He may just be trying to drum something up because it's a slow sports day. I guess we will find out. Should be an interesting show.

Oh but I thought that Finebaum just loved us so much and hated anyone against us.

It sounds like Bama self-reported and suspended the players until the investigation was completed. What else is at issue? Unless it goes into other players in other sports, why would there be any additional penalties?

I think Finebaum is more upset about the fact that the NCAA has had an ongoing investigation of this and a letter had been sent to Alabama about "possible major violations" was covered up by the UA athletic department. The letter was sent about a year ago and this is the first anyone besides Auburn fans ( ) had ever heard of this. UA just refused to acknowledge anything about this investigation. THAT is what Finebaum is going on and on about.

Well I guess Aubies can enjoy dominating the track and field program when the NCAA lays the smack down on them.

As much as I hate Bama, the NCAA has no business looking at any school until that shite with USC and Reggie Bush is dealt with. IMHO

Here Here....The only problem is that the NCAA has a hard on for USC and Pete Carroll so it just going to get swept under the rug just like everything eles with USC.

Finebaum is doing what gets him ratings. Its all he has ever done. I don't know why anyone would be remotely surprised by this.

The is no football going on, so he drums up what listeners he can with stuff like today. Sound familiar? It should. its the same thing here on the Rant when the season is over....AuburnCPA anyone?

someone in the compliance department about this during the end of the 2007 football season, and one thing to take note of — the beginning of this violation did occur during Bama’s repeat offender window. That does not mean that the NCAA will choose to punish Alabama as a repeat offender, but the option will be there if they choose to do so.

That could suck.

if you dumbasses would quit trying to CHEAT the system it would be a non-issue. I have a buddy that was a key member of the machine in his day and he says it is real.

During the Albert Means case, the head of the NCAA infractions committee said the NCAA would give the gumps the death penalty if they ever appeared before that committee again. Hopefully, he will keep his word
