I agree with you about all the feigned self-righteous indignation in this thread - a telltale sign of extreme butthurt - but I still feel the need to provide the counter argument in here. mainly because I'm legitimately proud of our team for handling it this way. classy. someone needed to say it.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, wait a minute...

Saban writes a letter of apology, but didn't even take him out of the game?

If that guy had blocked Fanning in the first place, this never would have happened. I blame him.

Hey.

Im not trying to get a rise out of anyone. I just want to see the young man get a suspension of 1 game. Thats a pretty fair punishment and it also sends a message to the kids at our program as well that that type of conduct isn't tolerated in the SEC.

The other nonsense going on is Bama fans trying to spin their way out of this incident.

This is a really good point. If the Mizzou OLine had kept engaged with Fanning this would have never happened. I think the Mizzou OLine should write a letter to Fanning.

I don't think you'll have to worry about him playing this week. I agree he should be suspended and he more than likely will be.

Riiiight.

taking accountability is the first step to moving past any mistake. the culture of accountability at Alabama is one of the things that sets it apart from other programs. this fanning letter is a prime example.

That tackle doesn't deserve a suspension from the SEC.

If he gets a suspension for the tackle, your OL should get suspended for the punches. Plain and simple.

at those calling for "suspension" from SEC office. The kid barely plays as is. It isn't like it would impact a single thing the D does. Now next year, he is expected to be a real contributor.

Kid should get a game. Thats where the lessons are learned. Not by some apology letter that is obviously BS.

He barely plays as is. A suspension would result in nothing of consequence. But if it'll make you feel better about Saturday's loss then I'm all for someone suspending him from playing the final two minutes of Bama's next blow out.
