Who has played more games against the Big 12 teams, Arkansas or LSU?

That's hard to tell simply because of conference realignment.

LSU and A&M have played 51 times, all but six out of conference (five were when both schools were part of the old Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association in the 1900's and 1910's, and one SEC matchup). During A&M's tenure in the Big 12 they met only one time, in the 2011 Cotton Bowl.

Arkansas and A&M have played 69 times, but only six of them were not as conference opponents (three prior to the SWC and the first three games of the renewed Southwest Classic when A&M was in the Big 12).

And most of Arkansas' games against the current Big 12 were when Arkansas was in the SWC. Other than its' three Southwest Classic games with A&M prior to A&M joining the SEC the only other Big 12 matchup I can recall was the 2012 Cotton Bowl against K-State.

Why has LSU only played Oklahoma State one time? And that was way back in 1956.

Blame our buddies over in Tuscaloosa for that. Sounds like their coach's whining cost you a matchup you wanted to see.

Exactly my point. I don't believe he removed any of the games played against Georgia Tech from when they were in the SEC. Or accounted for the fact that South Carolina at one point was in the ACC and so removed their in conference games.

Due to those past alignments and subsequent rivalries combined with in state rivalries or neighbor state rivalries, it makes perfect sense that other schools have more games against the ACC. Arkansas has no reason to play the ACC since they have never resided in the conference, did not play Georgia Tech while the Tech was in the SEC, and does not neighbor an ACC state.

But Arkansas has played the Texas and Oklahoma schools more because we border them and have resided in conference with them before.

Therefore, you can't just say "Why do you have fewer games than us against the ACC?!?!"

1960 Cotton Bowl - Duke, L, 6-7
1980 Gator Bowl - UNC, L, 27-31
1995 Carquest Bowl - UNC, L 10-20

There it is, all 3 times we've played a team in the ACC conference. Didn't win any but you'll notice that all 3 were bowl games where we notoriously are bad. I believe you'll agree it's hard to get up for a team like those in the ACC when nothing is on the line.

ETA: We've never played a regular season game against an ACC team. So while your programs were beating up on shitty ACC teams OOC we played Big 8, SEC, PAC-10, and Tulsa on the reg.

And for something more relevant:

Arkansas basketball versus some ACC teams:

vs. UNC: 3-4
vs. Duke: 2-1
vs. Clemson: 1-0

Wow this thread sure died a quick death once some factual information was actually included.
