The top teams in the west get to skirt by with so many bottom feeders every year. The two Mississippi schools, Auburn and Arkansas are dog shite. That is four bye weeks right there.
The East ends up cannibalizing itself with the brutal divisional schedule so the winner is worn down by the grind when the SEC Championship game arrives.
The couple halfway decent teams in the West have benefitted by playing in the little sisters division for too long.

You do realize that Vanderbilt and Kentucky have always historically been the two worst teams in football for basically almost all of the conference's history right?

I'd say it's about even Mizzou/UT getting the nudge for 4th best team in their division over Auburn.
