You missing the point. I never said there was proof that Cam's dad received anything. He admitted to shopping his son which is against the rules. There was an admission of wrongdoing (however minor) on Cecil Newton's part. In Ttown's Menswear, there was no documented violation or admission of a violation anywhere. Granted, it looks fishy but looking fishy doesn't equal rules violation. It "looks" fishy when Dakota Mosley and Dee Liner are on twitter fanning out cash but stuff like that by itself isn't a rules violation

If you lived in Alabama during that time you saw tons of autographed items by some of the named players at any mall or tradeshow. Tom From T-town was the broker for all those items. Unless you think those player spent hours signing their names for free because they justed love Tom, you would have to think it was beyond fishy.

True. Sorta hard to find a cash paper trial.

Guess they concluded bama players just liked to hang out in a clothing store for hours in their free time and sign shite because they didn't have anything better to do.

Stopped reading here because this statement conclusively proves you're a homer and have absolutely ZERO ability to remove bias and look at situations objectively.

As for the current JFF thing, it is relevant to include the Ttown menswear situation in the discussion as the same rules are in question. Namely, did a player sign memoribilia for compensation.

No they're similar but not the same. there was NO witness or witnesses that claimed the Bama players got paid or asked for compensation (plenty if Au fans made the leap of guilt). Not one person claimed the Bama players set up a deal to sign for cash. The Bama players signed at a business that in the past put on university sponsored signing sessions and is where the team gets there game day apparel.

JFF has witnesses claiming that they were apart of the deal and gave specific details of the transaction.

Clearly you should be able to see the difference. One has only allegations by the bitterest of rivals while the other has claims from actually witnesses to the tranactions .

I do see the similarity : they both deal with players signing memorabilia.

The one witness is a disgruntled dealer who was shut out by JFF. Sounds familiar ?

I agree with all of this and believe it is why the JFF situation is more dicey.

In bama's situation, it was a booster and fan that was in no way going to say anything that might get bama in trouble and would certainly deny any player compensation.

For JFF it is third parties that probably do not care about A&M either way.

No, it doesn't sound familiar, what's the theory? I'm sure it is Bama related or some old conspiracy theory.

Most logical people see it as history repeating itself. Amazing how the timing of these issues occur before big games or big runs. When an issue has been out there for over 8 months and Schad and Co release it in August, you have to shake your head.

If I were ESPN, I'd damn sure want Manziel on the field.

For those of us not in loop on all the conspiracy theories; will you please be specific on the history that is repeating ?

Not since the attacks on Cam has the agenda by ESPN been so obvious. Manziel has been drugged through the mud the last 5 months and now the surfacing of this 8 month old issue has brought out a full court press against him by the talking heads. To hear Rece Davis attack him and the program while not saying a word about bama and T-town Menswear shows the selective journalism that exist at the network. Clay Travis is the only one to show any parallel in the two stories. I think the College Football World is going to see how the network pushes certian programs and attack others with the same zeal as the National Enquirer.

You sure exposed ESPN with all of your investigative work. I expect Bristol to come tumbling down any time now. I expect this will live up to the standards of such investigations as "Operation Red Dog" and "Operation Take Pictures of Black Players' Cars and Then Make a Bunch of Racist Statements."

You should have given that second one a better name, by the way.

If John Thrower hadn't died (of AIDS, allegedly), I'd think you were that crazy old fool.
