Florida's offense last year wasn't straight-up lethal

Damn shame he got hurt with uga up 14-0. Florida got so lucky on that play.

Georgia football thinks they're Bama, but has a trophy case similar to South Carolina.

The reality is that Kirby is an elite recruiter, and a mediocre-poor gameday coach. Could that change heading into year 6? Sure. Could he luck out and win a rando title like Les Miles, Orgeron, Chizik or Larry Coker before fading back into irrelevance? Sure. We just don't know. At this point, who else is UGA going to hire?
I figure they'll ride Kirby until at least year 10 as long as he continues recruiting at an elite level. If he starts his 2nd decade in Athens with no natties, the heat has to get turned up at that point. Heck, he has all the pieces this year. If he flops this year again, the heat should get cranked up a notch or two, but Dawg fans are so accustomed to mediocrity, Kirby is likely safe for at least the next 3-4 years.

Remind me of how long Richt was in Athens with no natty?

Uga hasn’t had a mediocre team since 2016, and there is no reason to expect mediocrity any time soon.

Mediocrity is a relative term. Going 40 years without a natty is the epitome of mediocre for a program like Alabama. Having top 3 talent in the nation, and not winning a title heading into year 6 is also a massive failure for elite programs like Bama, Clemson and OSU. You can win alot of games and still miss the mark.

Bama is very fortunate to not have to face saban.

Such idiocy and typical arrogance from à Saban era Bama fan.
How long did it take Bowden ? Osborne ? Paterno ? And none of thèse coaches had to go through thé greatest CFB coach/run in thé modern era.
UGA could have easily had 3 additional NC's other than '80 IF the ball had bounced our way in '82,'12 or '17 and who knows what happens last year had JT Daniels been healthy.NO TEAM could win à conférence or NC with Stetson Bennett as their starting as QB and highly difficult with à 3rd string QB

I’m pretty confident Georgia will win the East, but they need to at least split the Bama and Clemson games. The one thing they have going is they could lose to Clemson early and very much contend. If they got Clemson a second time in the playoff after losing the first, that gives them the edge. You generally don’t beat a great team twice in a season.
And I think 2021 UGA is a great team.

Also, a lot would depend on how we lost to Florida and Clemson (we don't play Bama if we don't win the East).
Most Georgia fans can agree that fake punt was the worst call in the history of the program and was coaching malfeasance.
And most of us agree that Kirby hopping around like an organ grinder monkey with dude holding his leash is an embarrassment to the program.
And most of us agree that getting embarrassed by LSU, Alabama, and Florida in the last few years with our secondary (which was supposed to be Kirby's area of expertise) getting torched play after play is evidence that he can't game plan.
So if we get beat because Kirby makes stupid sideline calls while hopping around like he's dancing for quarters on a street corner while a music box plays Camptown Races as the opponent puts 48 on the board, then yes, it wouldn't hurt my feelings as a fan to fire him and hire Hugh Freeze.
I smell a rat.

Lol at comparing Richts last 5 years at UGA to Smarts first 5 years. That is UGA level education attempt at deflection.

Not quite sure what this means
It means it’s individual effort not team or scheme with UGA.
UGAs philosophy is to recruit developed kids they can plug in and play. It’s rare to see guys develop because UGA just recruits over guys instead of coaching them. At Bama the expectation is you play when you are ready and Bame routinely has the staff to get you ready. 4-5* guys rarely come in expecting to play much. At UGA the expectation is start as a freshman or SO and leave by your JR year unless you need to rehab an injury.

I think the Georgia offense will be good to great this year.
I'd be all in if Pickens wasn't injured.
I kinda second this notion. Pickens is such a big time receiver. I mean he has an outside shot of returning come playoff time.
Otherwise, dude has kept his nose clean off the field his two years here, and I want him to be healthy for the NFL.
