Their fan base has to accept that they are a mid-tier team at best and expect at minimum 4 losses every year. Auburn has had 3 losing season's in a row. Freeze is trying to rebuild a team in the best conference against some very established teams. That is not going to happen over night if it ever happens. Auburn fans need to roll back their expectations and live with Freeze for at least 2 more years or longer. The people calling radio shows wanting something done right away are going through the levels of acceptance with the state of their program. Maybe by next year they will be more accepting of the level of where auburn really stands in the new SEC.

Most of those people are likely AU fans from the Cam Days. It took Tubbs a few years to get it back on track. Gus caught lightning in a bottle but fizzled cause he got a big raise and lazy in recruiting. Harsin set us back years by not recruiting. Freeze is showing he can recruit a top ten class year over year. So baring any surprises he will be given a full 5 years as long as recruiting holds up.

If Freeze keeps up the blame game as losses mount, that recruiting class will melt away.

100% correct, Tennessee went through this before the transfer portal or NIL and it is extremely difficult to rebuild in the SEC. I don’t know if Freeze is the right coach or not but if he isn’t it may take 2-3 more before you find the right one

typical Auburn, lose to who you're supposed to beat, win against who you're supposed to lose

Doesn't bama have a big game this weekend? Why the hand-wringing over Auburn fan's expectations?

Because I listened to morning sports radio on the way in to work and auburn people are acting like this season is a big surprise and want immediate action taken. I figure this is just in Alabama where auburn runs most the major media. But still they're just going to have to lower expectations.

Morning Opry,

Are you smacking your cousin wife around today or are you going to wait until tomorrow?
