Eulogy for Les Miles

He had the chest, he had a want, and, for a while, he had a damn strong football team. The Mad Hatter, the Turf Taster, the Guru of the toss dive; he was eminently quotable and impossible to dislike. His teams never lost, they only occasionally finished second. He was old school to a fault, favoring downhill rushing over forward passing. To paraphrase William Buckley, he stood athwart history yelling, "Stop!"
His teams presented the biggest challenge to Saban's dynasty. He was, perhaps, a missed Oklahoma State field goal from conquering Saban. The Game of the Century was the most intense football game I have ever witnessed.
To quote Hamlet:
"He was a man, take him for all in all, I shall not look upon his like again"

Well done. Except for the fact that he isn't dead. Just another unemployed coach.

This is great, and sounds just like something Miles would say

All Hail Lesticles! There's only been a few coaches who's personality fit so perfectly for a schools culture. I've had the football pleasure to enjoy more quality exciting "Can you believe that?" football during the Miles era than any other. Les left his mark not only on College Football, but every great football coach he played against.
