Cody and Arenas(as a CB) were extremely overrated last year. They were good players, but not as good as they were made out to be.

That's a stupid fricking argument since that is only two programs. Also they are new teams.

Played the #2 ranked schedule

You played a tough schedule, but it was just the normal SEC schedule and VT. So yeah it was hard, but I wouldn't go out of the way about it.

I would rank it AU '04, UF '08, and Bama '09 for one through three in that order.

2008 Oklahoma is third in the Big 12, but 2008 Texas who beat them and had a better record doesn't crack the top 10?

2008 Oklahoma was a better team if you judge by team performances throughout the course of a season. I wasn't that impressed with Texas at all that year and honestly think Utah could have beaten them on a neutral field.

Look I saw both of the '03 LSU and '04 AUB teams in person. LSU would have mopped the floor with that team. AS far as the best team of the decade who cares. The 3 major programs of this conference has the crystal in their trophy case and that's all that matters. Everyone else should to the SEC.

AU in '04

Auburn '04 played 4 teams all year that finished with winning records - including Tennessee twice.

Bama played 10 teams that went to bowl games, 5 top 25 teams - including the #1 and #2 teams in back to back games, and a total of 3 teams that finished ranked inside the top 10.

I'll also add that Bama '09 and Auburn '04 posted very similar stats. There are a couple of things that make the fact that Bama posted those stats a lot more impressive.

I already talked about the difference in schedule. Auburn played the #60 ranked schedule in the country in 2004. Bama played the #2 ranked schedule in 2009.

As I stated previously, Bama played both the #1 and #2 teams in consecutive games - and Bama beat those teams by 16 and 19 points respectively, and dominated both games.

Alabama played and beat 3 teams that finished the season in the top 10 in the AP poll - all by at least two scores.

We played and beat a total of 5 teams that finished the season ranked in the top 25. LSU was the only one of those teams we didn't beat by 10 or more... we beat them by 9.

We played only one game in which we scored less than 20 points.

Out of the 14 games played, we beat only 2 teams by one touchdown or less.

Out of the 13 games Auburn played in 2004, they beat 3 teams by one touchdown or less.

Auburn '04 played 5 games against teams ranked in the top 15 and totally dominated all but 1.

AU '04 would steamroll and laugh at '09 Bama. It would be a total arse kicking and pretty much a mismatch. Ingram would quit in the first quarter. Trent would run hard but get beaten to death by mid third. The ginger would be knocked out of the game before half. AU's O would put up about 30 even with the Tubbershell.

Final - AU 30, Bama 6.

Your accomplishments in 2004 in terms of defeating ranked teams is just as good as our accomplishments in 2009. The difference is, the SEC had its worst overall year in 20 years in '04. Auburn and LSU were the only two teams to finish above .500 in the SEC West that year.

Big 12, where is that Colorado team that put 63 on Nebraska and was # 3 in the polls going into the bowls ?

LSU 03 should be higher.

Auburn played 4 teams with records above .500 in '04. 5 if you count VT in the bowl game and 3 if you are counting the reg season schedule. 60th ranked schedule in the country in the weakest year the SEC has had in decades.

5 games against top 15 teams. Can't dispute it.

2009 Bama does not even deserve to be mentioned with a team like 2004 AU.

Seriously, AU 2004 would have absolutely kicked the shite out of the luckiest, highest player payroll, biggest ref paying team in SEC history.

And I understand you are fishing... But Bama didn't give up 30 all year long... What makes you think Auburn in '04 could have scored 30 against one of the best defenses Bama has ever had? Heck, you guys only scored 10 on LSU and less than 20 on VT.
