I just remember a lot of Alabama fans blaming the 2022 Tennessee loss on officiating. The 2022 LSU loss was blamed on officiating.

The 2019 LSU and Auburn losses were due to injuries.

The 2021 Georgia loss was injuries to the receivers.

Top two talent and a top two coach, anything more than one regular season loss will be a massive underachievement.

As noted, Kirby Smart was 4&4 in the SEC his first year. As you so often note, Saban list 5 games his first year at Alabama. It is also often noted, even in this thread, that Alabama lost a lot of players to the transfer portal after Saban retired. So personally I agree with the poster that said 10 wins would be very good and a sign of a great future for DeBoer at Alabama.

Kirby wasn't a top 2 coach and didn't have top 2 talent.

I'd say the same of Saban in 2007.

Completely different situations.

If you don’t think Saban and Smart are the 2 best coaches in a very long time you are simply a moron

Kirby was not considered a top 2 coach in 2016.

Saban was probably not considered a top 2 coach in 2007.

DeBoer is considered a top 2 coach in 2024.

The MAJOR difference is that Deb is walking into what might be the best ever roster situation for a 1st time coach. He doesn't have the same excuses Kirby and Saban did. 10 wins for Bama in 24 would be okay at best, and certainly NOT a very good sign.

2022 Tennessee loss on officiating

I don't know if it was THE reason, but that was the worst officiated game I've ever seen.

No it wasn't. We just got beat.

The 2019 LSU and Auburn losses were due to injuries.

We lost, our QB was injured though. That would hurt any team.

We would have beat Georgia with them, but they were hurt. One wasn't able to play at all, and Alabama was winning until the other got hurt. However, injuries are part of the game and teams have to win with who they have. It is what it is.

You trolls are having a hard time settling on “Alabama lost too many players to transfer to be s contender “ or now “ Alabama has the best roster ever for a new coach “

Nothing but a troll board and the ESPN writers have seriously triggered you

That’s where you are making the mistake.

I am not one of those trolls (who have obviously triggered YOU).

Deb can coach and his roster is loaded at least until Saban recruits are gone.
