It doesn't really matter. As long as you use similar criteria to compare schools, Bama is on top. What I love is when the Barners try to use very restrictive criteria for us and then claim titles in 93 and 04 for themselves.
Or Auburn fans trying to claim 93 as an SEC title.

Look this is such a tired and worn out debate. There are tons of threads started by trolls of every SEC fanbase concerning Alabama and national championships.
Here is what I think. The criteria for how National Championships have been awarded has evolved over the years.
In the future I am sure fans of rival teams will try and dispute the validity of pre-playoff National Championships (BCS Era and Pre-BCS.) This is a never ending debate and everyone has their own opinion.
Fans who try to use the same criteria for how a National Championship is awarded today and apply that to the past are only trying to over compensate for their underachieving program. Oh and they are trying to overcompensate for having a very small penis....

They didn't even get one major selection in 1914, 58, and 2004 though.

Alabama has 9 Titles where they were recognized as champions in all the major polls. 7 of those they were undefeated. Alabama also has 2 undefeated seasons where they don't claim shite.
