Do you know why it located out that way rather than closer to MB? Cheap land i guess.

It could have its own college strip next to campus. The 'downtown' area of Clemson next to campus isn't the downtown area of the original town of Calhoun which was around the railroad tracks that run parallel to the 123 bypass with all the fast food places.

UVA has The Corner strip next to campus, downtown Cville is a pretty far away.

At that time, the population center of Horry County was Conway, Aynor and Loris. Hardly anybody lived in Myrtle Beach. They wanted Coastal (USC-Conway) to serve as a branch campus for folks in Horry and Georgetown Counties. The area of land around Red Hill and Jackson Bluff (where the campus is) was chosen because it was donated by the Burroughs Timber Company, a precursor to Burroughs and Chapin.

Not a bad call at all. Show some love to the underdogs that do good. Better for the game.

This just shows you how messed up this year is. In a normal year those two schools are not on anybody’s radar, even when they are undefeated.

I give them credit for not only playing, but playing well.

Gameday, even in normal years, generally goes to one random G5 or even DII/DIII location once a year. This a perfect opportunity for them going to a game that covers not only their general MO of going to a smaller location once a season but also happens to be two G5, ranked teams having unprecedented seasons. I think it's pretty cool, just wish COVID wasn't around for the sake of the fanbases involved not being used to attention like that and not getting to experience it once.

Their campus looks like a strip mall right off a stretch of really bumfrick white trashy highway, but cool I guess.

You can't even see Coastal's campus from the highway. The only thing visible is the football stadium from the Highway 544 side. Their actual campus is pretty.
