I'm sure it's Germans, but did anyone else notice that ESPN had Bama listed on it's scrolling stats before the game as having won 13 championships, but changed it to 9 after the game?

No, but I did see them change the helmet on the Gameday set from a #13 to a 14.

Whether you want to go with 14 national championships or 9 national championships, the bottom line is that we still have more than anyone else.

I took a picture on my phone of this.... Not that it matters. 9 is still a ton... But yeah I saw it. I guess espn isn't recognizing the others for some reason? No flame intended... Asking a question

ESPN was placating both camps last night. Before the game, they had the Alabama helmet with the 13 in front of the desk. After the game, the 13 helmet had been replaced with a 14 helmet.

They also posted stats for an LSU win on ESPN News during Les Miles post game Q & A.

LSU - 3rd BCS Title
Les Miles 3rd Coach with 2 BCS Titles

etc...etc...

Thats pretty funny. But really, we know what it means when we see "8 NCs" used during a broadcast, so theres nothing to see here.

It was weird to me. They had the helmet down there with 14 on it, but they kept flashing "9th national championship" on the screen.

Being an Auburn fan, I understand that you would be unclear on the concept of a long history of success. We had success before there WAS a BCS...in fact, we had success before there was an AP.

Does the creation of the BCS negate success achieved before its existence? Of course not. Then why would pre-media poll success be negated by the formulation of AP?

They clearly stated "poll era" so I had no problem with it.

Of course I love to classic BAMA hater argument "you only have alot of national titles, not alot +1"

It really doesn't matter, we still are 1 no matter who's numbers.

BUT, I will always count those that came before1936. Those players that went to the Rose bowl and won put Alabama football and the South on the Football map!

14

Don't be mad that we can actually claim an inflated number like "14" and half the country believe us.

Thats how badass we are.
