64 Team CFB Tournament for 2019

64 Team CFB Tournament for 2019 (Part 2)

quote:

Here's how the process works: Using ESPN's preseason Football Power Index, teams are seeded 1 through 64. This year, FPI's top four seeds -- Clemson, Alabama, Georgia and LSU -- all occupy the same general area, so I had to be a bit creative about which team headlines each region. Since LSU is No. 4, the Tigers will have to win in the west to reach their first football Final Four.

Stupid question. If the field is 64, why does the first round only have 28 teams?

Don't they seed the 1s if they reach the final four as

1 v 4
2 v 3

I'd be good with knocking the regular season to 9-10 games and going with an extended playoff. Not 64 tho.

So thats wrong? I'm genuinely asking?

So if that's the case why does Clemson play bama in the final four if they are #1 1 seed and the #2 1 seed?

I'm truly not sure - I think he said he had to manipulate a few things to make it work regionally.

It would have been more realistic to use conference champs from the smaller leagues too, but hey when in a fantastical world you don't ask questions I guess.

Gotcha I would just assume Bama and Clemson would play in the title not the final 4 based on their rankings, similar to this years CFP

Yea it would make sense, especially since FPI has them #1 and #2.

Once again, Georgia takes an early lead behind Fromm's precision passing and two Swift touchdown runs. And for the third straight year, Alabama breaks Georgia's heart because of a backup quarterback. Mac Jones comes off the bench to relieve an injured Tagovailoa and find Ruggs for the winning touchdown pass with 6 seconds left

Existence is pain

LOL - if we are forced to go to Mac Jones we are fricked.

That bag of tricks is bone dry in 2019.
