I think the floor is too high on this one.

Guaranteed losses (4): LSU, Bama, UGA, Arky
Could go either way (4): MSU, Clemson, Vandy, aTm
Guaranteed Wins (4): LaMo, Ole Miss, NM St., Al A&M

Best 8 - 4
Worst 4 - 8

Pretty much nailed it. The MSU game is about as close to the guaranteed losses column as you can get while still not a sure thing.

8-4 would be a fantastic season for them.

Man how I wish LaMo would beat Auburn, only to shut them up from bringing up 2007.

How does this make a proven running back appear? Dyer was the guy. I don't know who is next in line and maybe he's good, but it's nobody that has done anything of note. Just because you've had good running backs in the past doesn't mean one will magically appear this season.

Whew! And here I thought we had to worry about Dee Hart and TJ Yeldon....glad they don't count. I was thinking they were going to be pretty damn good.

Can't speak for others, but for me personally, it would be getting very very warm. 4-12 against those four would be unacceptable.

I'm baffled that there is even a discussion of Chizik being fired within the next few years. He is recruiting very well, and he won Auburn's only national title in the last 50 years just two years ago.

People really underestimate just how hard it is to win big like Chizik has with your huge in state rival being the current king of CFB. Had AU made a bad hire (like Turner Gill) a few years ago, it is very likely AU would be in shambles right now. The West is so strong right now, I would worry less about an 8-4 season and worry a lot more about how fast it could all crumble if you fire Chizik and make even an above average hire.

UGA and Arky are not guaranteed losses at all. UGA has a history of flopping and AU should be much better near the end of the season. Arky has great skill position offensive talent, but is average everywhere else and has a piss poor coaching situation led by a man who just wants to get paid for a year to get out of bankruptcy.

proven running back

Of all the positions in football, proven results and experience at the HB position is the least important. A run game is 85-90% dependent on the o-line.

Yes, but having a 25% winning percentage against your biggest rivals is not good enough. Just because the West is stacked is no excuse for being complacent finishing 4th every year. The fact we are recruiting so well is even more reason for there being no excuse finishing 4th every year.

Best: 11-1
Worst: 8-4

Best we will lose to either LSU or Bama.
Worst we lose to Bama, LSU, UGA, and Arky or Clemson.

Auburn will better than last year and went 8-5. Arky, Clemson, and Bama will not be as good as they were last year.

True. But if you guys fired Chizik, it had better be with a guaranteed stud wanting the job. Things could get really, really bad with the wrong hire.

Agreed, but that might not result in a better record. AU's schedule is brutal.

I just want to see improvement across the board. We still have a young team, so I'm thinking 8-4. We'll steal one against either Arky or UGA and lose another we should probably win. That could either go up or down depending on our QB play.

You don't lose the brains of your offense and not take a hit.

Au lost their brains (Gus) on offense and des not come close to having the talent of Wilson at QB, plus Ark is more proven at RB, and have just as good of line & other skill positions. I'd also say Ark's defense will be very even or better than Au. Coaching goes to Au. I just don't see Au beating Ark this year.

Au best case 9-3 if they can upset UGA.losses to LSU/Bama/Ark.

Worst case 5-7

Prediction 8-5 with bowl game.

I would gladly trade a loss to msu if it meant beating lsu, uga or bama.

We were 91st in offensive yards last season. I doubt we'll really miss Gus.
