I wasn't aware that using history was the idiotic way of doing things, as opposed to setting my own standards as to what a dynasty is.

Obviously your opinion is in the minority.

I'm not sure how you've gathered this. Minority amongst ESPN writers and Bama fans? Yes. And that's easily explained. Ratings for ESPN and fans gonna be fans.

where did I say this? I've said numerous times that this was my opinion. You're the one getting all upset over one man's opinion.

I don't think Bama is a dynasty. I think it's a good 5 year run. DWI.

Back in September, Bama reached No. 1 in the AP poll for the fifth straight season, which had been accomplished only one other time in the last 50 years

Again, I've said numerous times that this was my personal opinion. DWI.

Also never said this. I clearly said that there MAY never be a dynasty in our lifetime.

Maybe you haven't figured out that your opinion isn't worth shite. I gave you a page that has links to many other writers that share the same opinion. You are the one who is too dumb to google any of this. As when I do basically the same search, I get MANY articles in what is considered a dynasty. Maybe you should try again.

In order for Alabama to be a dynasty, according to Cas4t, Nick Saban's son would need to take over for him, win, pass the mantle to his son, who also wins, and so on before the inevitable fall of house of Bama.

Of course, you could substitute son for assistant coach. The key is that there must be an unbroken line of succession.

Considering that has never happened in American football. There are no sports dynasties.

Well according to WordIQ.com:

A sports dynasty is a team that enjoys a period of dominance over the sport, generally gauged via championship titles.

Ex:

Packers of the 1960s
Steelers of the 1970s
49ers of the 1980s
Cowboys of the 1990s
NE Patriots of the 2000s

You just posted entire decades. Not half decades.

Oh and was Alabama on that list? Because you didn't post them.

No, WordIQ.com chose decades, but teams rarely dominate for an entire decade. The packers had a 7 year run where they won 5 championships under Lombardi. It's still considered a sports dynasty.

You selectively choosing to use the definition of dynasty as it applies to the familial or political realm when discussing sports is silly.
