And you misquoted those links and made up things, like him hitting. Which is why I said your arguments were intellectually dishonest today. You've embellished your arguments in here today and made statements that are not backed up with facts in trying to disparage what Upshaw did and compare it to what Smith did.
I think I mistakenly said hit instead grabbed by the neck and hair. My apologies. I have equated the recent incident with Smith and Upshaw, not the bar fight.

For realz. Apparently it's cool for a girl to slap a guy. Upshaw should have walked away at that moment and had her arse arrested for assault.

This. No reason to ever lay hands on a woman, unless you're effecting an arrest on one who is resisting or in defense of a child.

Would have been better than chasing her down from behind to assault her in front of a cop.

You said, "I know what happened that night" and "the guy got his arse beat for instigating it". Please elaborate

You sure about that? I think you are confusing me with someone else.

I agree. Lets here it Matt. Give us a detailed rundown of what actually happened that night. We've heard that Jenkins punched Eric first earlier in the night, but when did this happen, what was the reason for it. Didn't the first altercation happen in the hotel room and then while out in the parkin lot...

quote:

After arriving at the Lexington Hotel in response to a call about a fight, police officers witnessed Smith, 19, strike an Auburn student, Decari Jenkins, in the back of the head, which knocked Jenkins unconscious, according to a complete report obtained by the Opelika-Auburn News. Smith was arrested for disorderly conduct at the scene but was later charged with third-degree assault

fill in the blanks.

Oh why you're at it, tell us about the massive amounts of weed that the auburn football players go through on a regular weekend. If you're hanging out with the football players, you know they're doing a lot of stuff they're not receiving punishment for.

I am a woman and a mother of a daughter.

I have no sympathy for nor will I make excuses for ANY man who lays his hands on a woman in a violent way.

I also have no sympathy for a woman who uses her vajayjay as a license to slap or get violent with a man.

Upshaw should have left that crazy girl and removed himself from the situation but in the passion of the moment and with a girl coming at him violently, he used force to restrain her - not a great judgement call, but it is was is.

Both the girl and Upshaw used extremely poor judgement - but in what I'm guessing was an immature argument based on jealousy and fueled by alcohol - is anyone shocked? This kind of shite goes down in this state every day.

I teach my son it is NEVER acceptable to get violent with a woman but if he feels his safety is in danger, his options are to get away ASAP and if that is not possible, to restrain the woman getting violent in the best possible way without striking back.

I teach my daughter that just because we raise our boy to do this, not all families do and it is just as wrong for her to get violent with a male or female. The boy you chose to slap may not have been taught to respect women and she may find herself in a very, VERY dangerous situation.

When the full story on Eric Smith and this situation is revealed and it is similar to Upshaw's I will feel he did the right thing - ie a crazy chick thought she could beat on him with no consequence and did what he had to do to keep himself safe and restrain her from further violence. My judgement is withheld on this incident.

However, Smith has a violent history that he has pled guilty too and numerous questionable acts on the field.

The jury is still out on comparing these two situations but the first Smith offense is worse than Upshaw's one and only offense that was dismissed.

Agreed. And if I haven't said it enough, there is no excuse for what E. Smith did.

Well, according the cop that witnessed it, Upshaw chased her down from behind and grabbed her by the neck and hair. He should have let her walk away and dealt with her crazy arse later or moved on to the other chick he was talking to that pissed her off in the first place.
