Did Saban switch to a 3-4 at Miami or Bama? I know he played a 4-3 at LSU.

Ummm, that style is not unique to Saban and has been in the NFL for years. The problem in the NFL is if you don't have the LBs to play it you'll get your arse run into the ground by just an average rushing attack.

Emulating Saban
Nick Saban's influence spreading back into the NFL?
A theme is developing since this year's national title for Alabama: People throughout football are lining up to try to emulate Tide coach Nick Saban.
uh oh...not good for Lil Nicky's already inflated ego. I'm sure another attempt at the NFL is not too far away.

I don't think Saban ever leaves Bama but don't think Jerry Jones doesn't offer Saban what little bit is left of his soul in the next year or two. He's going to make Nick turn him down and the offer will be ridonkulous.

I agree with that, If I was a owner/ad I would throw everything I have to get Saban to my team.
I really don't think he's going to leave Bama. We were lucky to get him and I feel like he's here for the long run.
And it's going to be a FUN run

good luck with that feeling

If you haven't gotten a sense of what drives Saban yet, then maybe you just don't pay attention. I'm sure Saban was steaming having to watch Sean Payton and the Saints get 100 times the attention that Saban and Bama got during and after championships this year. And now Pete Carrol has jumped back to the NFL. When Saban gets the call, he will certainly be intereseted.

Dont kid yourself. Everywhere he's been people have said "but this is (insert school here) he'll stay forever, what else could he want". Bottomline, he's usually a 5 year guy. I think he might go 7 or so at Bama but that would be about it.

to be honest, i'm good with him here for 5 years, 7 years, 10 years.
I know that every year he's the head coach, Bama is in the hunt.
what more can a fan ask for.

Pretty sure Saban learned it from Belichick(among other things) so they aren't exactly reinventing the wheel bringing this defense to the NFL.

I thought Saban invented defense?

Knowing Nick Saban as much as you obviously do, you should know that Jerry Jones would be the last type of owner Saban would ever work for.

Maybe he does, maybe he doesn't, but you shouldn't spend every offseason hoping and praying he does leave. It looks sad.

good to see an honest, sensible answer from a bama fan. As an LSU fan I would not give up the years Saban was here because we were competetive and won a title during those years. But I also was not shocked when he bolted for the NFL. Comes with the territory. I just think it's funny to see most bama fans think Saban is all of a sudden totally different now, saying things like "no way he leaves". Serously?

How many NFL owners would give Saban the type of control that he desires? Definitely not Jerry Jones. At Alabama he has it all. He's a rock star. Why would he go to the NFL, thereby losing the control and that rock star status that you all claim he relishes in?

Yeah, lol away. You know it's true. Otherwise you would have backed up your laugh with points instead of making yourself look like a dumb arse who just wanted to raise his post count by one.

I guess you're serious so I'll try to explain it. When Saban returns to the NFL, he will have as much control as he wants. His personality dicatates that.
And using your term, "rock star status"....being a "rock star" in Tuscaloosa isn't even close to being a "rock star" in an NFL city. The media attention that the NFL gets completely overshadows college football. Look at the example of Sean Payton again for comparison.
