His check says Auburn University on it...he now feels differently.

So, Johnson is like every other red-blooded American.

All the hurry up does is rush the defense and limit substitutions. That does nothing to change the game unless the defense is a bunch of out of shape pussies.

Ellis was wrong back when he said this, and he realized it and decided to work for the master of the HUNH. Smart man

Completely different imo

Not really. You have changed your opinion over time and have confidence that Saban can put a winning team on the field. Why then can't Johnson evolve in his thoughts on a HUNH type of offense. Could it be it is because he is now the DC of Malzahn, sure no doubt. However, people can have a change of an opinion as they get more educated or more exposure on something. Agreed?

Lulz, I must be having a discussion with a middle schooler. My apologies son, have a great Summer and leave the big boy talk to the older guys.

the young mind is much more open and impressionable than the adult mind, which has lived and been shaped by experiences. Ellis Johnson is a hypocrite IMO, whereas Im a bastion of integrity.

Any team that doesn't like what the offense is doing? Man up and stop it. Don't act like Saban and be a whining pussy about it.

I would post one but I'm on my mobile site right now. I remember reading an article on it when he was hired, though.

Johnson, whose hiring was announced on Thursday, can relate to the challenge of defenses facing Malzahn's offense.

His South Carolina defense faced Malzahn and Newton twice in 2010, losing in the regular season and the Southeastern Conference championship game. Johnson would grumble that the proliferation of hurry-up styles "is starting to deteriorate some of college football."

He's backtracking now.

"Did I say that? Translated into Latin, that means, 'Somebody help us, we can't stop this,'" Johnson said. "All of us defensive coordinators complained over the last 5-15 years. Gus wasn't the first one but he kind of put it in warp speed."

Best I could find in a quick search.

I remember him saying that he could make his defense succeed in relation to the AU offense running the HUNH.

I think that is very different from changing his statements from three years ago, especially given the current circumstances.

Very possible he changed his mind on the OP, I just have not seen that.

I'm trying to figure out how to say this to the OP...well, I'll just say it...
