I don't recall their offense moving the ball that much. Mauck threw a pick 6 on the first LSU play of the game. I think Mauck threw 3 interceptions in the first half. LSU had to play very conservatively on offense after that. So I give credit to the Ole Miss defense, but LSU's defense played very well against a good Ole Miss offense.

Poor ole Mauck had run a 100+ degree fever the night before the game, probably one of the reasons he looked somewhat sluggish in the game.
