Don't get me wrong, I hate the different unis and wish we would go back to Nike, but the gold is from the actual name of the egg bowl. The battle for the golden egg. It's not that hard to make the connection for people who know about the series.

"HAIL STATE" didn't work out very well the last time I saw that. Maybe "BULLDOGS" will cancel that bad stuff out. But I don't get why you'd use gold numbers. They're definitely easier to read than the silver on white you had in the A&M game, but still... that just seems weird.
