re: [EDIT] Mizzou will hire Odom, Herman, Fuente, or Patterson (all huge hires)

See, the problem with USC's search is it has already slipped out publicly that they are all in on Herman. If they don't get him it's a disappointment and would not be at all surprising to see them end up with some goofy arse retread.
Don't forget who you are. USC, historically, is truly awful.
Mizzou's worst case scenario is infinitely better than just about anything you can realistically pin to SCAR.
The writing is definitely on the wall. You got that right.

Kills, I think you are right in that Mizzou would be a good HC destination and can compete in the East. IF the mess on campus continues as is or snowballs out of control, I think it will be difficult for Mizzou to land that big name hire. With VT, SC, USC, Miami and no telling what shake ups come at the end of the season, I see Mizzou going for a lesser name and getting this program through a couple of mediocre years and when things settle try for the splash hire in a 2-3 years. I'm only saying this because no coach black or white would want to step into an unstable situation.

Well we are going to get all the best black players from now on. What head coach wouldn't want that?

Kansas overall record 579–607–58 (.489)
South Carolina 587–559–44 (.512)
Kansas bowl record 6–6 (.500)
South Carolina bowl record 8–12 (.400)
Kansas 10 win seasons 4
South Carolina 10 win seasons 3
Kansas conference titles 8
South Carolina conference titles 2
You people have the shortest memories of all time. USC is historically one of the worst programs in the country.

We were good enough for Spurrier to come here and we're in even better shape now
It's not the 90's anymore man.
Missouri last won a conference title the same year South Carolina did. And Missouri didn't spend 20+ years as an independent.

Sorry it was exactly 155 years ago that the Stars and Bars were born from the original confederate states. My apologies on over exaggerating.
Also, most of the Mizzou admin was calling for the Chancellor and President to be fired. Why do you think he was forced to resign so quickly?
Use your brain, this whole orchestrated chaotic shitstorm was just an excuse for the deans and the BOC to get these guys out.

Your argument is the equivalent of shoving your fingers in your ears and going "nananana can't hear you!"

I was just responding to the notion that historically USC and Kansas are similar programs. Kansas had a good stretch in the late 2000's, just like USC did a few years ago.
It's debatable whether USC's success was the product of a legendary coach or because "times have changed". I'm going to go with the Spurrier effect.

LOL.
USC has 3 ten win seasons in their entire history? Mizzou has 5 since 2007.
Mizzou HS the roster in place to immediately compete in the East again and USC is a total gut job at a place it's proven nearly impossible to win at over time.
Keep clinging to the thought that everyone is a southern conservative and is appalled about what's turned into a non issue. It's so clearly a non factor it's laughable you guys keep bringing it up.

and yours is shutting your eyes and dreaming about the golden years when you didn't lose 8 games, probably the new norm, or is it just reverting back to the norm?

Mizzou's head coaching search is essentially foolproof at this point.
We either get the hottest coaching name on the market or we simply hand the keys to the best young defensive mind in CFB. It's that simple.
As for everyone pointing to the protests, it has already lost so much steam that it is nothing more than ranttard fodder at this point. It will have zero effect

For starters, you're probably looking at a black coach. There aren't any black "hottest names on the coaching market". But hey, maybe you can get Strong.

Why do people think we're just going to hire a black coach? You realize if we just hire a black coach to hire a black coach that the boosters and alums will basically boycott the team and Rhoades will be out on his arse.

Not after I blast this all over social media.
Just kidding. I wouldn't go that far.

We aren't looking at any black coaches right now.
We'll either hire Herman whom our AD has a connection to, or we'll hand the keys to the best young defensive mind in CFB. We can't lose really.

Major difference is talent, Mizzou has some, USC has....well what does USC have right now?
Lot of good that "talent" has done you this year, yank.
And USC has and had the ability to score TDs every single week. Y'all.......yeah, we all know how that ends.
quote:
Half the reason guys went to USC was to play for a legend, now that you've lost that angle, what's the real reason to go there?
Yeah, that's why those players are working their asses off for Elliott. BC they wanna play for Spurrier. And our recruits are hanging with us. Have we lost some? Sure. But everybody will have some flip before NSD. We don't make excuses like fans from another school in this thread do.
The reason to still come here? I can understand why y'all wouldn't understand the answer to that.
It's an education, moron.

So they can get curb stomped by Clemson every year?
We have one team's fanbase that comes over here and takes jabs at us. Y'all? Every fricking body comes here to laugh at y'all. Everybody. Your old conference is laughing at you almost as hard as your new one. And they both detest you.
Gottdamn it must suck arse to be a yankee from mizzery. Thank God he loved me enough not to curse me with that incurable affliction.

Especially when you lose to said team pretty handedly. Definitely didn't have issues scoring on that defense this year. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)
