Didn’t kiffin say the portal, not recruiting, would be his focus? Seems to me, given that, every year will be a rebuilding year.
Okay check it out... you can still get portal guys who are young. Take Jaxon Dart, for example. At the time he was recruited by us, he still had multiple years to play in our program.

My point exactly. He will live and die by transfers. Very little coaching going on in BearShark land. Malik Heath sure didn’t look any better under Kiffikins.

You must not have watched Dart's progression from the start of the season to the end of it.

You are an idiot.

I don't think you understand what "rebuilding' means.

I think that's the same for a lot of teams that aren't top-eschelon programs.
It's typically the same Top 5-10 schools in recruiting rankings every year, and if you're not up there -- there is going to be rebuilding. And a program is going to have to rely on the TP (i.e. leftovers from those top programs) in order to make things work.
Occasionally, you'll have a player fall through the cracks like Judkins. But that's an anomaly, not the norm. I think that's why you have to appreciate a guy Leach, who tends to find those diamonds others overlook.
Gary Patterson did that at TCU, and you see the team he put together this year. Dykes didn't do that. Patterson would make a serious run about once every 10 years, and for a small school like TCU, that is the best we can really hope for.
I expect Dykes will crash and burn, once he is forced to assemble the bulk of the team on his own. Hell, he initially benched Duggan, who's out there tearing it up now.
Dykes is a vastly overrated coach, and I anticipate the Frogs will lose to Kansas State. They'll lose to K-State, and then get knocked out of the playoffs.
Guys like Leach and Patterson shuffle guys around and find the right fit. Doing more with less. MSU is in a much better position than TCU going forward. I just hope Leach is healthy and the rumors are false. Love that guy.

I strongly disagree. TCU won't be in the same conference as Bama, Auburn, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee, Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Which means they will have to run the table to secure any prominent bowl.
That is unlikely.
For a school like TCU, it is always boom or bust. There is zero leeway. There's a reason teams want in the SEC, and it's not just money. The SEC is the premiere conference in college football, and that grants its teams a certain latitude when it comes to bowl selection.
TCU has none. Unless they go undefeated, they are irrelevant.

We looked like we were in the Run and Gun Florida ran with Spurrier on Thursday. Leach is slowly building a team that is not reliant on the air raid.

I can count on no hands how many times I heard "rebuilding year" from the rebs,
An MSU fan not being able to count isn’t surprising to anyone.
