I’ve listened to all these shows and podcasts talk about the 12 team tournament, I haven’t seen anyone mention the early marquee games going away. Why would Bama play a bunch of big named teams then go through the SEC Schedule, then the SEC championship, then have to play 2 more top teams?

I see those early season games being lost.

Why? With a 12 team playoff Bama (and others) can recover from a week 1 loss against a P5 team. It's more games, but makes the season more forgiving.

12 team playoff is a crime.

6 is the max. #1 and #2 get a first round bye

Until aTm is #7.

I don’t have a problem with 12, I just think why play tougher games early if you can get rent a wins, and not worry about your stars being hurt.

Because SOS matters. The more teams, the more SOS matters.

The BCS to the 4 team playoff has seen power 5 teams take on stronger regular-season schedules.

There could be more 2 loss teams than playoff spots. Who looks the sexiest will matter, as it does today in the SEC when they compare teams to Pac 12, ACC, B1G, and Big 12. The committee knows which conference, and more specifically, which SEC division, has the toughest SOS.

And you will never not have a good enough SOS being in the SEC.

I’m not saying anyone in the SEC would even do this, but I believe others will. A G5, pac12, or ND might though.

Tell that to TAMU. Notre Dame in the ACC overcame an all-SEC schedule because of perception. SOS is going to continue to matter as the talking heads at ESPN and FOX continue to pick at the schedule throughout the season.

That is for 4 not 12.
