it seems unlikely, not because Bridgewater isn't good but because he is going to have zero national games. His stats are going to have to blow everyone out of the water and that just seems really unlikely

Those are that passing stat lines for Bridgewater and Manziel last year. Bridgewater held his own with the Heisman winner. Only he rushed for 1350 fewer yards and 20 fewer TDs. That's an enormous stat gap to bridge and it's doubly difficult when he has no top 10 type matchups to showcase himself
I'd say Manziel, Mariota, Braxton Miller, McCarron and Clowney all stand out as frontrunners. If you want a darkhorse, I really like Brett Hundley at UCLA. I don't see Seastrunk as likely just because Baylor is going to have games they really struggle without a QB. It's really hard to win a Heisman at 8-4.
...excellent argument.

That guy is soooo underrated. He's gonna be a beast. Most people outside of California still don't even know who he is. Hopefully whoever steps up to take Franklin's place will be good to give him some relief.

Bridgewater is going to flop. I'm calling it.

I think Bridgewater is an outstanding QB. But outside arguments on skills, he lacks something that Manziel had last year: a marquis opponent. Yeah he'll play a good team in a bowl, but that's too late.
My picks in no particular order are AJ, Boyd, and JFF. But nobody saw JFF coming last year so who really knows?
As much as I like Clowney I just don't see it. "Run the other way" is going to do him in for that award.

Jeremy Hill. Guy is the best player for LSU and will be the sole reason they win more than 8 games. Without him they lose at least 4 games.

I know Hundley was ranked by some services as the top QB in his recruiting class. I think he would have to have a JFF type season to be in strong contention. He may be a year away from his best.

Not really.

You're probably right on Hundley in that he's still a year away. But they do have a pretty tough schedule and if they start winning, he's going to get a ton of hype. UCLA is ranked #21 in the preseason poll.
9/14 @ #18 Nebraska
10/19 @ #4 Stanford
10/26 @ #3 Oregon
11/30 @ #24 USC
He's going to get every opportunity at a Heisman moment. If he seizes it, he's in the race.

I don't really know who to pick as my favorite. It's hard to repeat as Heisman winner, so that makes me not want to pick JFF. If Derrick Thomas couldn't win the Heisman with 27 sacks, no defensive player should in it without 30. That makes me want to not pick Clowney. Bridgewater is a good choice, but the competition he plays against could hurt him.
The Bama in me wants to say AJ, and while I think he'll get to New York, I just don't know if he can win it. His only chance would be having a Heisman moment, and throwing for over 3000 yards after the SECCG and having a TD:INT ratio that is similar, or better, to his 10:1 last year. Plus he'd have to be 13-0. That said, I just don't think he'll have the numbers to win the Heisman.
Then you have RBs. DAT is a potential candidate, but will he get enough total touches to put up the numbers needed? Then you have Gurley, who is a serious contender, but I gotta wonder how many carries he'll share with Marshall, plus Murray is going to get to sling it around.
I don't think Yeldon will get it either. I see him having around 235 rushes, plus however many catches, but that won't be enough to get him to New York.
Marqise Lee is an excellent choice, to me. He has the ability to put up insane numbers with a first year QB. So because he's the only one that I can think of who doesn't have any major thing going against him, my favorite for the Heisman is Marqise Lee.

Marquis Lee is the best player in the country regardless of position. USC could also play 14 games because they have Hawaii on the schedule which is huge as far as racking up highlights and stats

I think he's the only player that can compare with Manziel. Along with Kenjon Barner, those three are the most electric players in the country.
