Lots of arm surgeries now a days. Lots of 90s and mid 90s all the way up to the freak likes Skenes over a 100. Something changed to get this many people throwing 96. High 80s once was the norm. Pitch count is misleading but over 100 is high. Bullpen warmup and warmups each inning. It's way over 200 if you go a complete game.
Weighted balls is a big thing.
I think Tommy John is in the back of all pitchers' minds. Some come back better than ever after TJ surgery. If they are willing to take that risk that's on them. Coaches abusing them is not OK though.
