Duron Carter
Is not that good, he is a two at best but more like the third reciever.
And this hasn't been said yet but usually does in the zillions of threads on him, his dad is not going to be a wr coach at bama.

They can and usually do. However, some players max out early. More so the ones who have been coached up early in life and have reached their ceiling. He spent his life with Chris Carter and his wide receiving program.....no Alabama wr coach is going to coach him up much more than that.
IF he wasn't a standout WR, it was likely due to a lack of core athletic components like strength and speed...not skillset (since like you said he spent his life with a solid ex-pro WR). These components can be fixed in a good S&C program like the one at Bama.
So while what you're saying may be true about him reaching his potential in things like route running and hand-eye coordination...there are other factors that can be improved to pick up any existing slack.
Judging by his workout vid that was posted on youtube a while back, he is a sharp route runner and has good hands. If he wasn't open like you said, it was likely due to his lack of being able to get separation which can easily be attributed to poor strength and average speed.
Whether he does pan out or not, it's not like Bama will be without. This recruiting class has a lot of good talent at WR and the BCSNCG showed that there are plenty of players in the ranks willing to step up in the passing game. If he does happen to improve though, he has the size to be serious threat to smaller DBs.

Well he did score 5 TDs in one game while in JUCO. I guess he has to have some separation ability, no?

I agree. I'm just saying in response to the dude hating on the kid, judging by what I have seen of Carter and just his general physique, his greatest potential for improvement is likely in the areas of strength and speed...two things that are regularly increased with great success under Cochran.

His strength is fine. His problem is that his acceleration is very poor and his speed is straight line speed is mediocre and that is being kind. He is just not a great athlete but has been worked well enough to be a No.3 type guy.

I agree 100 percent and that was my original point. Had this guys last name not been Carter Bama fans would not even remember he was on the roster.

No. He did that versus Dodge City CC. DCCC was 0-9 on the season and gave up 63 or more points in six of those games.
If you have been around JUCO football you would know that many of the teams don't even have full scholarship players. Being 6-5 he is going to get some touchdowns on that level. However, I know some JUCO players who did not even play in high school.
I am not trying to knock the kid but he is not up to par with other receivers on the roster and in noway is worth 10,000 threads.

like others have said, Carter is not the next Julio Jones. But he is a big body with great hands, and a great rout runner. Those possession type receivers are critical to an offense and team on a championship run. Look no further tan Darius Hanks for Bama the past few years. He will be worth his weight in gold to this team if he can get and stay qualified.
