Say what you guys want, I knew Saban longer, his teams will make mistakes during critical times during the game. At least with Miles they spread it out throughout the whole game.

Yes, he was hurt so bad he kicked the ball off and kicked a FG just moments before this fake FG was called. Not to mention came right back out the next time Bama kicked and did the kickoff and the extra point (and the rest of the kicking duties from that point on). Let's try and be a little less naive here

Congratulations on another imaginative way of claiming a moral victory

There was no moral victory. You beat us. I'm stating what happened down the trenches. But hey, if you want to make up side-tracks for why it happened, feel free to continue.

naive? he was hurt, why is that so hard to understand? Players dont get hurt (he made the tackle on a kickoff) and miss plays and then return to the game? This board looks more like the rant everyday

Yes, once again, he was hurt so bad he came right back out to kick the next time Bama needed to kick. On top of that, they felt like he couldn't just kick a FG even with a supposed mild concussion?

Seriously, don't buy into Saban's excuses for making bad calls.

did u read my post? Players do come back into the game after missing a few plays. Did you not hear tracy wolfson say he was hurt on the sideline? We didnt have to kickoff again until the 2nd half. By that time he had recovered. You people are reaching

Even IF he honestly couldn't kick a freaking FG and Saban sent out the backup kicker who had kicked 1 FG and 1 XP all year (And missed both)...that's an incredibly dumb decision...on top of the already incredibly dumb decision to even give the holder the option to call a fake on 4th/long from the 40 yard line in a tight game.

You guys buy into Saban's excuses way too much.

Excuses? As Dvls pointed out earlier, it was a read play installed for this game. The holder thought he saw something in the UF defense, so he checked into the fake. And that is exactly how Saban explained it, not sure what excuses you guys heard. Its fine to hate Saban, but dont make shite up

actually, no, they won't let you back onto the field until you've been cleared medically. You're a much more intelligent poster than this, thunderbird

Once again, an excuse for making a terrible call. Why would you even give your holder a chance to call a fake on his own when it's 4th/long from the 40 yard line? Dumb, dumb, dumb.

On top of that, you KNOW you're playing a team that's very good on special teams.

The best call there would of been to either punt or send your offense onto the field. EASILY the better choice than what Saban called.

Give it up. They are being loyal Sabanistas. Marching lock step in what their master wants them to do.

I actually applaud Saban for giving the holder this kind of responsibility. Wish it would have been executed a little better, but oh well. And that kicker can make FGs from that distance, so I dont think it was that dumb to go for 3 (but it can admittedly be argued).

again, i cant argue this. I'm not sure what I would have done in that same situation.

to punt, go for it, or kick FG situation can definitely be argued. But not the legitimacy of the injury (which is what brought me into this thread) and I didnt hear Saban make any excuses. He said we read it wrong, plain and simple.

It was a dumb call. I think bringing out the offense would have been equally dumb.

Punt and pin 'em deep.

That being said Florida won the game and was a better team. The coaching helped us more than that one play hurt us.

12-1 isn't perfect but it's not Shreveport.

Tiffin was hurt so Corey Smith had to be out there. However, after seeing how UF was lined up, Saban should have called a timeout to abort the fake and instead they should have pooched the ball. I don't think that call should have been on Fitzgerald's shoulders so in that, Saban did make a mistake.

Having said that, the fake FG did not cost us the game. Javier catching a kick inside the 5 hurt (he should have let it go out of bounds so that costs us 35 yards) and the two 15 yard penalties hurt bad because of when they happened.

This just proves you're being a sheep. Why would ANY sane coach give their HOLDER (who is a PUNTER) that kind of responsibility in a Championship game on 4th/long from the 40 yard line in a tight game? That's nothing but a terribly stupid decision, nothing more to it.

He could of executed it to perfection and still got stuffed. Florida made the right "safe" call moments before the snap. It was clear as day. They saw the fake and called safe.

Admittedly? He was 0/1 on the year in Extra Points and 0/1 on the year on his 1 FG (from 30 something yards). Yet, it's a good idea to trust a guy who's never made a FG or XP with the responsibility of possibly kicking a 50 yard FG in a tight Championship game? Admittedly, logically, anywayaly....dumb.

Seriously? Not any good coaching move is doing what was called.

How am I not objective ? I think that play was a bad call.Doesn't matter how it "was executed" it was a poor call.
