Going back through the history of this long series.... its amazing how one team seems to get the better of its rival for a very long period of time, only to see the series flip back the other way. The 125-game series can really be broken down into 6 distinct time periods:
1892-1919
Auburn jumped out to a 13-7-4 series lead in the first 24 games (62.5% winning percentage)
1920-1952
Georgia came storming back, going 22-8-2 over a period of 32 games (71.9% winning percentage)
1953-1965
While a relatively short 13 years, this was the most dominant streak in the series for either team, when Auburn managed an 11-2 stretch (84.6% winning percentage)
1966-1982
Georgia came back to go 10-6-1 over a period of 17 seasons (61.8% winning percentage)
1983-2005
Auburn got the better of Georgia for 23 seasons, going 15-7-1 during the time frame (67.4% winning percentage)
2006-present
Since 2006, its been all Georgia with the Dawgs going 13-3 in the last 16 meetings (81.3% winning percentage)
All total, we're in the sixth major streak of the series. The previous five have lasted on average for 22 games, with the program that is having the upperhand during the period winning about 70% of the games.
As bad as it seems at the moment, Auburn fans, if history repeats itself you might have another 5 or so years before this series flips back the other way.

This is why I don't pay much attention to UGa fans' claims of dominance.
This series always turns around. That's the only thing you can count on in the DSOR.

Seems like you think about 1980 a lot.

UGA has the chance to win 5 in a row for the first time since the 1940’s.
