I don't think SC is going to do much this year but I'll bet the OBC has one more perfect gameplan in him- might see it this week in the middle of the monsoon, might see it vs. Us, might see it to ruin Clemson's year in the most Clemson way possible (undefeated Clemson on verge of title bid gets upset by non-Bowl eligible USCe in blowout fashion-- that'd be classic Clemson).

I just don't feel good running down the Cocks until we beat them, the OBC isn't Bert or Butch he's liable to get cranky and ruin someone's year.

I think Drew Lock and Will Grier will battle along with Kyle Allen as the top QBs in the conference over the next couple of years, he definitely has top shelf talent and will dominate a lot of teams.

If our receivers ever decide to catch some balls, Harris is definitely in this group as a 2nd year player, dude has performed very well thus far, but the OL and WRs have been a letdown (in passing game).

Mizzou fans: Will Grier sucked on the road at Kentucky, he will suck again on Saturday!

Joshnorris14,

Florida will destroy Drew Lock. At least we had a chance to glimpse his greatness for one game.

You are just trying awfully hard. Especially in the prediction thread where the vast majority of Mizzou fans predicted UF to win.

WE'RE THE BEST DEFENSE IN THE SEC.......and we're legitimate because it was good last year!!

Like it or not, Kentucky is a common opponent who just happened to smack your defense around. Towles by himself completed more yards than their entire team did against us.

Again.

Who on your schedule has a better offense than Ole Miss?

Sorry for raining on the parade, but no, there was no vast majority. It was, however, at least a little more even as time went on.

That being said: Watching Mizzou fans tout their #1 SEC defense after having played no on--oh excuse me, you did play a good Kentucky team that blew up your defense and marched for 3 touchdowns when they couldn't even scratch one against us.

My bad.

Well...

The pros:
1. Very quick release
2. Has a cannon for an arm - he can flat air it out
3. Seems to be very mature for his age
4. Throws a "catchable" ball, so he seems to understand touch. Also understands when it needs to be rifled in. See his 2cd TD against South Carolina to see a throw few QB's can make.
5. While not as mobile as Mauk, isn't exactly a statue back there either
6. Shouldn't put the defense in as bad of starting positions as we've seen in some games.

The Cons:
1. This will be start #2
2. The inexperience will lead to mistakes
3. Not as mobile as Mauk
4. Playbook won't be as open due to inexperience

Last week's plays were very intentional, designed to get Lock experience with many easy to complete throws. I'd expect more of that this Saturday, but with some more shots down the field, and hopefully over the middle.

Mizzou fans don't want to admit this, but this is the key to beating us. Dobbs wrecked our defense.

Thankfully it's not Mauk with the chance to salvage his career, honestly. Although Lock could do some major damage too, I just don't think his throwing is near Chad Kelly's level and we were fine with him.

Damn you UF fans have a chip on your shoulder.

Bottom line is no one knows what to expect with either team.

Holy frick that coming from a Mizzou fan is priceless.

"#1 SEC Defense."

"Lock could be the best QB in the SEC (he's played one full game)."

"Kentucky is unimportant...even after they beat us."

Our QB has started four games total now, and has improved (markedly) each week. Our offense is getting better every week and our defense has been the same every week.

Missouri is starting a true freshman quarterback with no real experience other than going against an SC team that you can beat without trying.

Our team is far less of an enigma than Missouri's, who has been padding stats against Arkansas State, SEMO, South Carolina and Connecticut.

From top to bottom:

ECU is lightyears better than Arkansas State.

Tennessee is better than Connecticut (way better).

Kentucky is better than South Carolina (they played).

Ole Miss beat Alabama. Your team has accomplished nothing all year.

So we should not mention our defense as a strength?

The shite talk is tiresome. All the projecting you are doing honestly reeks of fear. You guys looked great last week, not so great before that. We looked like shite until we went with Lock and we played better. Do you guys show up as the team that played Ole Miss or the team before that. Do we continue to improve or do we take a step back again. These are the relevant questions and answers won't be known until Saturday night.

You guys are favored, and should be. Who are you trying to convince here? I don't see any contention to that aside from some of your fans predicting a blowout. (I have the bookmarks just in case lol)

Sounds really similar to Grier but with slightly less experience.

Until you play a team with a winning record -- who isn't Kentucky because they beat you -- yeah, you guys should be pretty "our defense is untested". Kentucky, although, had no problem moving the ball against you while we dominated them defensively.

Our offense came through against a pretty solid Ole Miss defense who just happened to beat one of the premier programs in the country -- quality opponent's = good barometer.

quote:

We looked like shite until we went with Lock and we played better.

Against South Carolina. Lambert went something like 28/29 against South Carolina. Anyone can look good against their defense. SC is a 3 on defense, Florida is a 9.

quote:

Do you guys show up as the team that played Ole Miss or the team before that.

Even so, we managed to beat everyone we played. Can you say the same?

quote:

Do we continue to improve or do we take a step back again. These are the relevant questions and answers won't be known until Saturday night.

Considering the trend, we've improved every week and done better. Can we always play at that level? Certainly not. Do we have reason to believe we can? Certainly. Do YOU have any other reason other than beating up on a less-than-mediocre SC team? Is that what you're hanging your hat on?

quote:

You guys are favored, and should be. I don't see any contention to that aside from some of your fans predicting a blowout. (I have the bookmarks just in case lol)

And some of them have a case to be made -- When we played Kentucky our offense was lax, we didn't do too much. Now that we've found our personality, I don't see why we can't do the same thing Kentucky did to you.

I don't see why, with superior athletes at every level, a head coach that schemes to perfection and players that never give up no matter what -- why we can't blow you out.

I don't think we will, because I think we come down from the clouds we're on, but they at least have a case.

You. Do. Not. Not yet. No one should respect Missouri for what they did last year, nor for beating South Carolina and honestly, you guys should have so much more pause after not being able to handle Kentucky.

You know why Mizzou couldnt rush the ball the first few games? It might have something to do with Mauk being a shitty passer and there was no threat there? Maybe SC had to respect the arm of Lock and it opened up the lanes for Witter this weekend...Listen Mizzous offense was so bad with Mauk that they went 3 and out EVERY possession...dont you think that would neutralize Mizzou's D? I guarantee you that if Lock was playing he would have beat UK...The game was close with Mauk at QB..

I can do this too. I guarantee Mizzou would have lost by 3 TDs had Lock played. He would have thrown 3 INTs and 2 for pick sixes.

Sounds just as ridiculous right. How could I possibly guarantee that without a crystal ball.

Can you agree with this? Miz has played one team with a pulse. Miz lost that game.

Besides, I thought I read you guys couldn't run the ball because Hansborough was out. I haz the confused.
