I haven't said anything about the Heisman. I'm stating that as far as SEC RBs goes, he's up there with the best at this point in time, as compared to others at the same point in their careers. He's actually better than most at this point.

So was Ingrams season. You realize, that in Bo's Heisman season, he only had like 1786 yds and Ingram had over 1900 total yards in his, right?

You can't even compare guys who played in the same year when they play for different teams against different opponents

But even if you did - you'd have to point out that Bo amassed almost 1800 rushing yards in a 12 game season

True but the fact that he was on the number 1 team in the nation is the reason he won it.
Or the fact that he was on the team is the only reason we were #1. It's pathetic the lack of respect some people give this kid.

yah.

He rushed for 150 / 140 / 172 / 246 / 144 / 149 / 102 / 113 / 116 and was at 91 / 99 in two other games. The 91 was on 8 rushes and the 99 was on 18 carries

there's a lot of justifiable cynicism about the Heisman trophy being a meaningful award now

before Ingram received his a lot of it came from Gumpland btw

Im only talking shite about the Heisman. The trophy is a joke and has been since Woodson. I expect Ingram to put together another good year then head for the draft. He is a very good back. But he is not in MY top 3.

I was simply pointing out to yall's newb that the Heisman Trophy doesnt make you a badass.

Exactly.

Some of his lesser performances were because he didn't get that many carries.

Auburn was his only legitimate "bad game," and that's because the Barners spent the whole time scheming him. They forgot about JJ, Richardson and Upchurch though.

Jamal Lewis> everyone else mentioned in this thread.
none of them will ever rush for more than 2000 yards in a single season.

He was the best player on the best team. Which is the common trend with the Heisman in the last decade. Dont blame me for questioning whether or not he deserves it, blame the idiots that voted for Jason White, Troy Smith and Chris Weinke that caused the trophy to lose credibility.

Jamal Lewis couldn't hold Bo Jackson's jock... unless he stole it from him at a convenience store

OK, would someone please inform Chicken, ESPN, every sports talking head, and sports fans all over Earth that we now have to stop comparing statistics when we measure player's greatness? Some dude named molsusport said so.

So in your opinion the heisman trophy will never be a credible achievement again?

And if you're the best player on the best team, I would imagine that means you're pretty damn good.

No, because the voters killed the OJ Simpson joke.

I agree, and I think the Heisman is a joke more often than not. But Ingramns stats were incredible, and cannot be questioned by reasonable people. Plus he did what he did behind an OL that was consider by most to be our weak link before the season. Most of the criticism is hollow and rings of Bama hatred, rather than any other objective reasoning.

If you'd get your panties out of a bunch you'd notice I pointed out the stats worked against Ingram vs Jackson stats wise anyway

If i was just out to bash Gumptards I would have pretended they were comparable between two guys (one of whom played 25 years earlier for an 8-4 team and the other of whom played last year for a 14-0 team)

Jamal Lewis, Ingram, and Percy. Two hard nosed runners willing to grind it out every play and help set up the play action, plus an extremely versatile athlete that can run, catch, and motion to the receiver spot.
