You think Moseley is better than all of them? i dont know about that bromigo

Upshaw is the only one in the discussion as being as good. At least until Hightower shows he is really back.

CJ has tons of upside but I also think he is was the best player on defense at the end of last year. I don't remember seeing a freshmen LB at Bama with his ability, Jordan excluded, I wasn't around that far back.

i think nico johnson can be the better than moseley. thats the battle i'm most interested in, besides qb. both guys are extremely talented. whoever can outwork the other is going to be one hell of a player. i have no real clue about the personnel groupings for this year but i gotta think the coaches will try to get both guys on the field a lot.

I really like Nico, he's a great tackler. IMO CJ should never come off the field.

i think upshaw is the best right now. but its really tough to decide. i could make an argument for any of them

Nico is a natural ILB with his "inability" in coverage. He's a good 2 down LB, he just needs to prove he can stay on the field on passing downs or against passing teams.

CJ has Safety caliber cover skills, probably the best natural cover man at the position since Saban arrived. He needs to show he can take on a fulltime role which is easier said than done.

It will probably be Nico in base, CJ for everything else. Then in 2012 they'll occupy both MIKE and WILL. I can't really say who would be which, both have a case for both positions. You gotta call the D at MIKE, WILL has to do a lot of dirty work to allow the MIKE to make plays. Sorta like a defensive fullback...

if thats the case, then i see nico at will and cj at mike. nico is much more physical and better at taking on blockers, thats his advantage over cj, imo. it will also be interesting to see how trey depriest factors in 2012. he seems like a natural at both inside spots too

That's what I'm thinking too, but at the same time, Nico has more experience in the defense. So I'd assume he'd be given 1st crack at MIKE due to then 4 years of knowledge.

I thought he had a shot at SAM, but he's got a thick build, akin to the ILBs. He certainly doesn't look like a freshman physically...

he looks like he's been in the system for three years. its a great problem to have. bama's LB depth is just ridiculous. i doubt there is another school with so much talent at one position

FWIW, and I know this argument is two years old, but it wasn't a chop block. It was a cut block and cut blocks are completely clean and legal. Happens several times a game. Just an unfortunate injury but Arky doesn't play dirty.

Indeed, and that's not even mentioning the LBs committed for 2012 & 2013.

I'd say USCe could give Bama a run with their DL, but no has the talent at LB that Bama has and is pulling in consistently...
