I know I am biased, but UA is just in a whole different league of their own when it comes to obsession and worship of players/coaches. I have friends that go to UA and they will admit that their fans are nuttier than others. they just embrace it think it and crack jokes about it, instead of getting defensive like some posters on here
I'll crack jokes about it all day, but after the display AU fans put on for Cam last season, you guys just don't have much room to talk. Also, there is no way for yall to really "get it" anyway.

And very poorly. Don't forget to get your ATM/Debit card next time you swing by one of their branches. I'm sure they have one with Paul Bryant Jr. on it as well. If not, maybe you can go to Wells Fargo or Bank of America and ask for one.

Auburn Bank is named after the town it's in, not some coach that passed away 30 years ago. As far as Aubie goes, what's your point? You're wanting to compare a local Auburn bank having the team's mascot on the card to a local Tuscaloosa bank having a coach that passed away 30 years prior? And that's not idolatry? Okay, go on and prove my point yet again.

Son, your arguments are ridiculous as to the bank and trying to argue it's idolizing Bear in some way. Applying your same logic means Cam, Aubie, the War Eagle bird and anything else used in advertising is in effect idolizing something.

or the adults that worship Alabama and CNS? Seems to me the latter. Pretty sad to portray yourself as such fans IMO.
The Alabama fanbase's idolatry of coaches is "unique" to say the least.
The Auburn Fanbase's Idolatry to be like Alabama is "Unique" as well
No means No Zach!!!
I just had to copy the greatest post ever put on Tiger Droppings.

Son,
First sign of admitting that you are on the losing side of this.

The Bank is named after your most famous coach, crimson and white in color, has a houndstooth as a logo, has said coach on a debit card, etc. The fact that you are trying to convince yourself otherwise is the only thing ridiculous.

Not at all. The card was just another example I provided to prove just how absurd your argument is that Bryant Bank is called that because of Paul Bryant Jr. That's ridiculous and you know it. But as you accused me of earlier, you are just too stubborn to admit when you are wrong.

The Bank is named so, because of Bryant Jr. being involved in it. You even admitted it would not be so, if not for him.

Umm.. that's the only card offered at Bryant bank? Ok, Mr. my dad built a bank. I guess I'll relent and submit to your supreme knowledge on this. Silly me, thought you can get different images on bank cards. Evidentally, Bama fans do use Bryant Bank to specifically get that bank card so they can worship at the alter of Bear the night before their direct deposit goes in.

Uhh.. I think you agreed with me a couple of posts ago, that it would not be named Bryant Bank if Jr wasn't involved in it.

It's named that because he allowed it. You think Paul Bryant Jr. would have allowed some random investors to come into Alabama and open a Bryant bank, using the name his father made famous, without him getting a piece of the pie. Quit altering the answer to fit your incorrect stance.

Don't know. That doesn't matter. The fact that they do have a card with him on it does however, in the context of the argument you decided to create.

No need to get mad. Just admit that you picked an argument that you were wrong on.

See first response. Just because he's involved doesn't take away from the fact that he fashioned the bank to cater to the legacy of his father. The idolatry that I spoke of included the naming of kids, tattoos, statues, Boulevards, stadiums, trademark fashion as a whole. You chose to single out one of them and try to start an argument. One in which you are wrong.

I chose this one specifically, because it was a bad example. The others I cannot argue and you have basis in them. Someone making a buck off his family name doesn't equate to Bama fans idolizing Bear. Again, if that is the case, then every logo, Auburn's bird and mascot are being idolized by Auburn Bank.

I've been wanting LSU to have a fan day for kids only for a decade now. Nothing sucks more than bringing your kid out there to wait in line with a bunch of freaking adults!
LSU split their fan day up into the PMAC and the Field House last year which I thought would be an improvement. No, I brought my kid and went to both locations and turned around and left.

What does it equate to?

You're comparing mascots of a university to a former coach. Which goes back to my very first point that the idolatry of coaches at UA is "unique".

What's the point here? That people are idolizing a guy that just finished his career up at Auburn a couple months ago? Okay.
