Statistics also show that players that go to college move up organizational ranks much quicker and are significantly more likely to make the majors...outside of those dang Hispanic players of course
I don't think that point is lost on anyone

and they will for a long time to come. There is too much money involved in the possibility of getting that next big thing. With basketball, compared to the other sports, you can win with a special talent. ie Cavs with Lebron. and not only can you win, you can sell millions in merchandise, which is what it all comes back too

Sure. I was tossing out old magazines the other weekend and came across a SI with Tyson Chandler on the cover, this was when he was junior in HS, they proclaimed him not to be the next big thing, but would be the GOAT.
Missed a tad on that, but he has had a decent career.

The NFL has done a decnet job of preserving college football, however over the last decade the NBA has gutted college basketball.
I heard a proposal I greatly agree with.
A kid can either go pro right away out of high school or choose to go to college and if he goes to school he can't go pro for a minimum of 3 years.
This would let the Lebrons and Kobe's go right to the pros if they wanted to, however if you're going to commit to a school you have to pass on the pros for a few years, would stop this 1 and done non-sense.

i'm guessing the majority of people who propose this like college baseball more than MLB?
